Unlocked 2.1 Android Phone (AT&T 3G)

It is the Captivate.

Just do what I did, buy an Acer Liquid. You can get it for $320 on Google Shopping (brand new, factory unlocked).

It has a Snapdragon (though slightly underclocked to 768MHz), 256 MB RAM, 800x480 3.5" WVGA resolution. It is like a cheap (plastic body, probably not as well built, not as great looking) Nexus One (though half the RAM). It supports the 1900MHz 3G band (which is the stronger AT&T band), also supports 900MHz/2100MHz 3G bands so gets 3G throughout pretty much the entire world.

Official 2.1 is available through Acer website. And it has a very large development community if you are interested in rooting the device (there is a 2.2 port, proximity sensor/camcorder/haptic feedback on touch keys do not work but everything else works).

Sounds good as I need to replace the Euro Milestone that Amazon USA sold me and that won't do 3G in the US...but what do you mean by "Google Shopping", Google isn't finding me that site, duh...

i just picked up the Captivate: it's a beautiful Android device (great screen) HOWEVER...
one big thing that has effected me - GPS is junk.

depends on how big a deal that might be to you.
supposedly there will be an update that might fix it, but just something to keep in mind.

other than that: the Captivate is very nice.
