WTH HTC!!!! Very Upset with HTC & Sprint Customer Service

If your phone is not new then why should you receive a new phone?

Because I PAID FOR A NEW PHONE, not some defective unit. What part of that does not register with some off you guys. Stand up for yourselves and demand what you paid for. People in this country are lazy and let companies dictate to them what they are going to get. That's a shame.

Dude I get your point. I believe the people on this board are beginning to become as bad as Apple Fanboys. Defending a product with severe issues just because its a product they like. Its like they feel that HTC is going to stop making phones for Sprint if you complain about them.

No he isnt asking for a new phone 364 days in, hes asking for a new phone 2 weeks in. If you bought a brand new car and took it in to the dealership 2 months after you bought it for your sunroof not working and they said hey we'll take this car back for repairs and give you another persons car we just repaired thats the same model and year as yours, you would be irate. But why, its the same car right....? If you listed it on Ebay, would you list your car new or used.....? Like what are you people talking about?

I agree with you OP. You bought a brand new phone thats defective, you should receive a brand new phone thats not defective, and not be inconvenienced in the meantime. Its all about quality control and customer satisfaction. Not accepting whatever a company tells you you should accept(i.e. "your holding it wrong").

Well on Saturday I was wiping the screen clean and saw dust under the screen (top left corner, I also have light leakage) and decided to goto a Sprint store with a repair center, long story short, I get the run around and was told to contact HTC as Sprint could do nothing about the issue. Well I call HTC this morning and they want me to send in my phone for repair. The problem is this is my main phone and what do I do in the meantime (because of HTC'c blunder with sealing the screen). HTC says it will be a 2 week turn around (I don't believe this as they seem like incompetent Monkeys). This really upsets me:mad:

I just got my dust cleaned out by Sprint today. I took it to the store and said " I know that this depends on how you feel today, but could someone get the dust out <pointing to my screen>". They said sure and picked up my phone in a hour. It all depends who is there.

dont know if this helps anyone, but with my evo whenever it got dropped into a pool i took it to bestbuy (have the protection plan through them) and ended up getting a new phone bc it was "more expensive to fix it than it originally cost" at no cost to me :D
By "whenever", can we assume this happened more than once? If so, why?
It's kinda like hearing about the same group of women who keep dropping their Blackberrys in the toilet here at work (my boss buys all phones for the hospital). Why would this happen more than once?

I said whenever it GOT dropped into a pool, not whenever it GETS dropped into a pool. As in once lol

They BETTER offer to help OR they will lose a customer. My whole family is on Sprint and since I am the "Tech Guy" for the family they would lose a few subscriptions. What do we pay insurance for then? That $7 a month is NOT for nothing.

I don't understand why people are willing to take a refurbished phone , WHEN WE BOUGHT THEM NEW. I refuse to take someone else's POS phone. There's a reason that phone was sent in. I don't want their old issue(s). Just send me a NEW phone and I will let it be. It's not our fault the phones were shipped and sold defective. That's HTC's and Sprint's issue not mine.

The $7 a month extends the warranty aftert the MFG's runs out and it replaces the phone if it is lost, stolen or damaged. If you have the device replaced in the first 30 days you are entitled to a new phone. after that the manufacturers warranty says to replace it with another device. It may be a remanufactured one and that is in the Terms and conditions you signed when you bought the phone. The "remanufactured" device could just be someone who decided they did not want a all touch screen phone and returned it to wait for the Epic.

I don't know why I read this entire thread, but it was rather nauseating to read the OP's posts along the way...

A little advice to the OP: What you WANT and what you are ENTITLED to are two different things. Start blurring the line in your head and your arguments become a tad whiny and childish ...

BTW: A refurb phone is not just being "passed along" with the original defects. The phones are disassembled, tested and all necessary parts are being replaced. They even reflash them with new software. You wouldn't know the difference ! (except that they are disclosing to you that you get a refurb and not a new one)

I used to work in a plant where I rebuilt car parts such as engines, transmissions, starters, alternators, etc. And in my opinion rebuilts are just as good if not better then brand spanking new ones. Why? Because it was assembled and dissembled twice. Usually the second time around we catch things that were defected during the original assembly process thus enhancing the part to a state that performs better then it did when it was new. The same applies to electronics. Per example a customer returned a phone with a faulty screen and during the rebuilding process they encounter and fixed issues that were looked over during the original fabrication. So in all honesty refurbs can be superior then brand new ones. Its all just in your head. Just think as that you are getting a phone that has been manufactured twice and inspected twice and you got a phone that somebody took the care to thoroughly make sure its in specified working conditions. Good luck though.
