I was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to take the "3G Mobile Hotspot" application from the Droid 2 and place it onto an Eris or Hero? I've searched the market and the closest thing's are tethering apps, but we're looking for something 3G specifically. Is there any method to do this? Thanks.

Well, okay, but I'm not wanting a tethering application. I am trying to locate the 3G Mobile Hotspot application that comes with the Droid 2, so that I can use it on a different phone. I mentioned the tethering applications, because they were the closest thing that I could find in the market, but aren't exactly what I'm searching for.

You would need to root and find a wifi tether enabled kernel, and then the application to start/stop wifi tether.
