Help How to get non cropped wallpapers?

Not sure to understand what you mean.
In order to use a pic as a wallpaper, it has to be cropped to fit the screen size,
Do you mean that you tried to import your Wave wallpapers to the GS?
In that case, it might not work, the size of the wallpapers might not be the same (just guessing here).

ok.. the wallpaper on the homescreen was of great interest to me since that is the thing which you will see a lot! so after reading around forums ive understood the following:

  • The wallpaper will always scroll as long as you have more 1 homescreen. The more the screens the lesser the scroll.
  • if you have one homescreen then it will not scroll but then you will not be able to see the whole wallpaper (try keeping just 1 homescreen and set that kitten wallpaper.. it will smaller than the one in the gallery).. In other words it will be cropped to a smaller size
  • The right resolution for the wallpaper (for 2 or more homescreens) is 960x800

I use just one homescreen so its a bit of a problem to find wallpapers which will look right even after the autocropping problem..

Now this is another irritation i feel also. I found no remedy until now. Always u select one wallpaper it will be divided. Selecting one screen doesnt solve this problem. How many wallpapers u will find in the we which has got some meening in every 3 or 4 screens that u use? A good image has got its composition and thats its beauty. Whenever u divide it, certainly u are loosing the appeal. For a panorama photograph it may be good. But then again, this is very much tough to find out pics which can show acceptable composition in all of the splitted screens. Any more ideas?

I'm a bit confused by the whole thing as well.....and I have a photography background, and have been using Imaging software for a long time.
It would seem that an image of 960 x 800 is 960 wide by 800 high. So that would be fine for someone who wants the image to scroll. My question is....What is the best size for an image for a single (non-scrolling) screen??? Is it 480 (wide) x 800 (high)???

Also, does anyone know why the select box for sizing the wallpaper is only HORIZONTAL (landscape)??? With the screen being VERTICAL (portrait) you would think that the select box would allow for a vertical (portrait) image format.

So, on this issue I'm confused....and I suspect many others are as well.

I am going to play with some images and see what I can discover. If anyone out there has already figured this one out...then please chime in. Thx.
