For NFL (and some other sports) Fans

I just found out that I can add my favorite NFL team's schedule to my calendar EASILY!

NFL - Teams - Yahoo! Sports

Pick your team, click on 'scores and schedules' tab (under the team name), and then click on 'add to calendar'.

It looks like some of the other sports have these schedules set up, too. You'll just have to find out for yourself!

I added my football team to the calender, but it only shows up on my gmail calender and not my phone calender. I have them sync'd and I refreshed, but no luck....

for some reason it took a while for them to all show up. but they have now. leave them in the calendar widget for a few days. maybe reinstall the calendar widget if you're using one. it's worth getting it going, it's awesome on demand info for sports fans.

Forget the calendar. I need my NFL mobile...sob sob sob. I'm a bears fan! Thanks Verizon for punching Sprint in the face for NFL mobile. However, the bears are not worth giving up my EVO for a Verizon Droid X or Incredible. Why can't we just pay for the app if we want. Oh, that would make life too easy for everyone.

NFL greedy-ism strikes. NFL could easily have put the app on all carriers, but NFL limits it's product availability on mobile just like it does in markets by blacking out games that aren't sold out.

MLB does the same thing, but at least I think it's possible to get MLB games regardless of carrier. The big problem is these sports are looking for every possible way to get $ out of fans because some of us won't fork over the extortion rates just to go to a game.

Actually that's why i'm here. I added my school's football and basketball schedules as well as my actual favorite college team football schedule to my google calendar.

They show up fine on google calendar but they wont show up on my evo. Is there a limit on how many calendars the evo or android as a whole can display?

As it stands I have 7. US hollidays, UK Hollidays, Special events, FIU football schedule, FIU basketball schedule, FSU football Schedule and the default google calendar. How can I get them all to show up on my evo? Even the US holidays are not showing up anymore.

EDIT: I saw I link one poster put at the top and I was able to do with with my pro football team (49ers) but the college teams don't seem to use the same kinda calendar so there is no option for google calendar.

So I'm back to my original problem. When you are on google calendar and it lets you "browse interesting calendars, I get schedules for sports teams on google calendar but they wont show up on android.

I can't get mine to show up either. The games are in my google calendar on the computer and it shows that it is sync'd on my phone, but there is nothing in the calendar. I have a check mark by the "Dallas Mavericks" schedule, but nothing is showing up. It is hard to be upset, because I wasn't even aware of this possibility until yesterday, but I would love to have it work.

in your calendar on your phone go to Menu->Add Calendar. It should pop up asking you if you want to add the calendar.

Is this the HTC calendar or the Android calendar? I'm using the HTC one. There isn't an option to "add calendar", but if I press menu -> more -> calendars, then it lists all of the calendars on my gmail account. I have selected the Dallas Mavericks calendar, but it still refuses to show up.

I don't think it matters which calendar widget or app you use. They all should display all your calendar info.
As to why it's not showing up. I don't know what to tell ya. After I did mine and went to add calendar a box popped up asking me if I wanted to add Patriots Calendar. I hit OK, and it is now on my calendar.
Did you try rebooting your phone?
Maybe even try removing them all, then reboot and re-add them all?
Did you check in your calendar settings and make sure your viewing all the calendars?

Under "My Calendar", click on "settings".
Then "mobile settings" to activate your phone.
Once it was activated, on my phone I opened the calendar.
"Menu", "More", "Calendars".
"Menu", "Add Calendars".

You may need to refresh the gmail account you are using to get the calendar options to show up on your phone.

Another option:
When looking at the calendar settings page, click on "browse additional calendars" link on the right side of the page. There is a sports option. Might be easier that way.
