Help Display Brightness issue

The stock browser has it's own brightness setting. Also, there is a kind of "dynamic contrast setting" that will adjust the brightness a bit depending on how much white or black is on the screen. Maybe one of these options are confusing you?

For the browser brightness setting, press the menu button and its on the very bottom under the normal settings button. In my opinion i think it was pretty stupid of samsung to have the browser have its own brightness setting with no option to keep it on the system brightness setting.

For the dynamic contrast brightness setting, press the menu from the home screen, go to settings, sound and display, and disable the power saving mode.

I agree, this is very annoying. Hopefully this gets fixed in the future. The phone brightness settings should over rule any application settings for it.

In the meantime I have found that the Power Control Widget allows you to toggle to three brightness levels instantly. I use the darkest setting most of the time and switch to bright when outdoors in sunlight.

This has the same effect as dragging your finger across the top of the screen. That function also toggles between the three brightness settings.
