Overzealous Mods

I made a thread in the HTC Inc forum asking for feedback on the Incredible vs Droid 1 performance and accessories. This thread was forum appropriate, some unknown mod moved it to the Inc accessories forum and changed the title. I then Edited the thread to self delete it and then reposted my thread with a slightly diff title and made my intent more clear. The mod then moved it again to the accessories forum and merged with the dead thread.

I would like the thread un-merged and moved back to where I had it.

If a mod changes someone thread or post then that mod should either send the person a PM or drop a note in the thread. Ninja modding is highly annoying to board users.

Note that that thread title is not one I had on it. It was Incredible vs Droid 1 performance and accessories. The changed title does not reflect the complete intent of my thread.

Please take this as a contribution to your posted concerns, and not as disagreement, Myk.. the staffers have been extremely busy of late with forum-wide issues stemming from a database crash last weekend.

I'm thinking that their regular duties of cleaning up threads, etc, including what you've experienced, are done as best they can as they watch for the anomalies associated with that database problem.

Have you PMed Phases or one of the moderators you see frequently in the forums you are most often participating in? That's what I would do.

Good luck. I hope it is all clarified for you, and soon. But I know we all have to be patient about things such as this, especially at this point in the site's ongoing improvements.

He is just "flexing his muscles". I understand that the OP was upset and it was an attack on the MOD, but the mod could have worded it a little better. Other then saying he could have done:
1-not have to explain my actions,
2-could close this thread,
3-leave the original merged thread in its place
3-and Give out infractions for questioning a staff member.

I thought we where suppose to be RESPECTFUL of others even if we don’t agree with there opinion? I think someone needs to review the rules.

And he is still wrong....split the threads means more threads and that means more clutter. My original thread was titled correctly and fit where it was. The mod is now just pulling some CYA. Notice he did not split the thread or explain himself until AFTER I made the complaint here.

So no instead of going to 1 thread to get the feed back I was after I know have to go to two threads, that is annoying. So I will not check either again. I also will not be pointing anyone here if this is how this place works.

How can it be an attack on the mod when there was no way to tell which mod it was until HE posted in the thread??? There was no tag on the thread he moved until he split them.....

You're blowing this WAY out of proportion. I can see why the thread was split. It was actually more of favor to you than for the forums in my opinion so you could get more specific replies within each thread and they would be easier to track. TS has already given you his response and that's it.

Going to other forums and trying to recruit members there to come fight your battles here seems a bit silly.

You should have just PM'd an admin here for review if it was really that big a deal to you.
