Immediate Help needed in resetting phone

This is now driving me INSANE.

Quick setup: Was running Fresh 2.3.3, wiped and flashed Cynogen 6.0 froyo

Was having problem with texting.. (see my other thread)

Went back to Fresh 2.3.3

I am now trying Cynogens again...

Wiped everything, re-flashed.

Weirdness is now happening. Many of the apps that I previously downloaded are now on the Cynogen rom (and shouldn't be).

I go into Market and it shows that I am downloading things and when I cancel it FC's the Market.

How do I completely erase everything and start over?

Got my texting problem fixed:

I came over from Fresh 2.3.3 to Cynogen 6.0 (froyo 2.2)

I could send text messages but could not receive. Tried numerous things numerous ways.. and finally had to do this.

#1. With the phone fully booted I did MENU>SETTINGS>PRIVACY>FACTORY RESET

#2. Rebooted Phone into Recovery

#3. Wipe Everything

#4. Place Rom on SD Card with Google Apps

#5. Flash

Now everything is working.

Just wanted to throw this out as a possible solution to those having similar issues.

Oh and one more thing.. If you use Handcent (or another similar program) make SURE it is on the phone and not on the sd card!

essentially... you should know to leave apps like Handcent and any widgets you use on internal memory as opposed to moving them to sd. The only reason any apps should be loading after you've reflashed would be the fact that you've previously partitioned and loaded apps onto your sd card and probably didn't wipe that. Certain things are just implied...

Dude.
I am going to walk you through this. Please pay attention. I have this stated in a couple of threads now.

I went from Fresh 2.3.3 to Cynogen 6.0.

As I stated previously.. I wiped EVERYTHING. You do know what EVERYTHING means don't you?

Then I went to Cynogen 6.0 and had problems not receiving texts.

Every time I would reflash I would wipe EVERYTHING before doing so.

EVERYTHING includes the SD CARD.

Even in doing so, the full wipe still would NOT get rid of all previously downloaded apps.

THUS

The reason why I had to do the factory reset while booted.

Got it now?

I understand what you are saying perfectly fine, I also understand either A: you are dumb and have no idea what you are doing, B: have some crazy freak issue of a broken recovery that can't properly wipe correctly. Naturally, I went with A, I'm done now so you can continue to rant by yourself.

Actually twinkle toes.. if you would check.. the fact is.. that a "factory wipe" in recovery doesn't necessarily remove everything.

But nice of you to waste my time with your lack of knowledge.
