Theres no OFFICIAL OFFICIAL word or timeline, but id does seem like that widget will be released eventually. Sidenote: I LOVE getting LP updates

Update: Files updated to fix problem with folder names being recognized
Update 2: Files now include two alternative docks, one at 50% opacity and the other at 25%, to be used with lighter backgrounds

You dont have to hide icon labels to get the dock&icons to work. The labels Launcher Pro is referring to is, say for instance you added an application shortcut to the homescreen, It would hide the name that would appear under it.

I am referring to the text labels underneath the shortcuts I create on the Home Screen. Yes on the dock, LauncherPro hides the labels.

My issue is I see text labels underneath each shortcut on the Home Screen. This is what I am doing.
1) I use FolderOrganizer Lite to assign your icons to each app I have. So lets say I have Astro File Manager app and I assign your icon "ASTRO FILE MANAGER" to it.
2) I then long press on the open area on my home screen and select shortcuts and Folder Organizer item.
3) I select Apps under Choose Items List.
4) I select ASTRO as the item.

This way it creates shortcut with your icon on the Home Screen but I still see text labels underneath each icon. So it looks like "ASTRO FILE MANAGER" as icon with "ASTRO" as text label or caption underneath. Only way I can get rid of that label is go Menu-Preferences-Appearance Settings-Uncheck Hide icon labels. It restart my Launcher Pro and then I don't see text labels underneath my icons.

OOH, I think I understand now. Yes, choosing hide icon labels SHOULD remove the "astro" text from underneath the icon.

When I originally created the icons I didn't intend for them to be used on the home screen though, (they were/are intended for the dock).

If there is a setting that is overriding LauncherPro's "hide setting", it's most likely coming from FolderOrganize. The only suggestion I can make for using these icons as homescreen shortcuts and not dock buttons is to use Desktop Visualizer. Then you could longpress the home screen, select widget/desktop visualizer (size) and assign the icons that way (just be sure to leave the "label" space blank.

In this screen shot that is the method I am using BUT i'm using icons I've created (not included in the pack) to achieve that effect.

Hmm, I think it really comes down to personal preference. Using backgrounds with alot going on I feel like THESE icons would be hard to read. I'm hoping to release a Zune-like pack of larger icons sometime later though...

What I was trying to achieve is a Minimalism effect. Sometimes I want my desktop not to clutter with icons and labels. May be I want sometime to be a warm background with these TEXT icons which are simplistic. I thought this is very unique and modern look. When someone sees my Evo, first thing they will ask is Wow, that is something different and second thing they will ask is how the heck did you get those icons. I will surely guide them to you so that you can continue to get donations! I am also using TAJM clock which has words for time and date to blend well. It's always better to have few icons packs to shuffle the homescreens based on mood you know!

Now I do love your Zune like larger icons. I will buy them from you on a heart beat! When do you intend to release that? I was lucky to see your post yesterday on androidforums and I sometime worry I may miss your next release unless I visit this forum daily! LOL.

Do you have any good backgrounds you can share? What do you think about your zune icon example background for these TEXT icons?

I cant give a DEFINITE release date on the zune icons (I'm moving back on campus tommorow morning so...you know) but I'm thinking maybe a week or two. It all depends on mood/motivation/school.
