Hey guys,

There's are several phones that got me interested and I am having a hard time to decide which one to go for!
Motorola / Droid: [Android 2.0][550mHz]
Sony / Xperia X10: [Android 1.6][1GHz]
Acer / Liquid: [Android 1.6]
Samsung / Galaxy: [Android 1.5]

Lastly, should I wait longer for more cool phone release in the 2010-Q2?
Please advice and thanks!

i would think a lot of it has to do with how soon you need a phone..I think if you are asking the question...then it is not important at the moment. It does look like new phones are rushing to market and the ones that are out are too new to find out what problems they have....Of course you can wait forever, since there will always be new phones....Right now i am trying to find apps because i do not like what is included...new apps are showing up rapidly and the Android OS will also update. so i do not think anyone really knows what is comming...waiting a bit cannot hurt...only help you make a better decision....Keep reading these forums and you will see who is happy and who is not and why.....maybe you will end up happy....good luck, allen
I have the samsung moment....and trying to make it better

Thanks Allen. That's a good idea. I don't hate my phone (LG / Arena) but I want it to be more than a phone, u know. My camera, apps, the most important the virtual keyboard is real bad. That's why I been doing a lot of research on Android so I can avoid from the "iphone"!:) ".....is everywhere....even my friend's grandma owns one too!

One more question, how's the future for the Android application? Is the programming more complicated than the iphone? That's why cannot mass production? I have faith for Android so I'm going to wait.

I can only guess about the future of Android. I have read that by the year 2012 the prediction is that Android will be the #2 OS after Symbian. Even if that does not happen...Android will still be huge and Android is Google so they are not going anywhere...How much we will like it is another story..only time will tell. Because of the open source ( unlike the iPhone) there should be lots of good programs to make the android phones more to each persons individual likes. I had a palm Treo 755p. it was easy to use and allowed me to enter into my calendar and contacts fast and it would search an entire phone/data base for any word, name number to help me find what i want...I do not have this (yet) with my Android and it bothers me. I do not know how long i can wait with the frustration i have...Maybe i will get more familiar with what i have and be able to be more patient with the new, but fast growing OS. Again...good luck, allen

Which one would you choose of the following?

A) Motorola / Droid: [Android 2.0][550mHz]
B) Sony / Xperia X10: [Android 1.6][1GHz]
C) Acer / Liquid: [Android 1.6]
D) Samsung / Galaxy: [Android 1.5]

Not the Galaxy!

My experience with Samsungs Galaxy has put me off Android phones for now although i am keeping an eye on developments. I would have to agree with earlier posts that it may be better to hold off and keep an eye on the forums until a leading candidate is more obvious! If i were to go back to a android handset i think i'd probably go with HTC's Hero as it has won so many accolades and HTC seem to be a leading the way with Android handsets!

^In that vein, what I'm hoping to see is Android really take off on other platforms, namely PC and note/netbooks. I'd love to see seemless integration between them and my phone and never deal with Windows again.

the future is really upon us...yet it is a guess as to what will happen...things are growing at a faster pace and it keeps getting faster. Google is becoming very powerful.....and that could be a bad thing too. When a company knows it is so important...it dictates and sadly greed plays a part...a big part.. they can have control and your money. Google is already starting to not allow certain programs..not sure why...too much to read...too many things. They want to make things sync and that could it a good thing...but they also want all your contacts names and addresses and they get it...Ever notice on your PC ( not mobile device..but your regular computer) if you have emails and in the email there is a product mentioned or what is discussed in the email....then shows products etc. that came from them knowing what was in your "private" email. oh well...i am not all that computer literate....i am a business person that has always had a gift of vision ( seeing things as to how they are going to be...know what people want ahead of time) I have good feelings for exciting things comming down the pike...and i have concerns along with it.....Good luck...and i hope we all really can benefit from the future of technology.....not just the corportations...but the people that made them the money....

Thanks. Yeah the apps are growing so fast, gonna eat up the whole apple so fast

Can't count Apple out....never know what is comming next...They held a lot back from their customers because they could....Recently Apple let their customers have Bluetooth.....soon it will be more because they have to compete with open source etc. However....if Apple comes up with something so unique....then they will control and take call they can from their customers again...
The Garnett Group did predict that Android system will be the second biggest OS by 2012 after Symbian...It is only a prediction and even if they are correct does not mean every android phont will be good and it does not mean that Apple or someone else does not have a better phone. In any case the fact that Android is open source and is growing not only in software, but new hardware....that is what will continue to make it exciting....and let us hope that Google does not become a monster that works against us..

Google does have plans to do a lot more. I believe a company is comming out with a tablet in a few sizes. Yes this open source and the connection to the web will start to make Microsoft do some management thinking. In the near future they cannot rely on making money with just OS upgrades....The future tells me most everything will become web based and our mobile phones and small netbook type computers along with direct connections to the web ( wireless will be wherever you are) will have plenty of power. Software will be on the web...You just log on and start using photoshop, corel draw, etc. ( having paid for it of course ) and some programs will be free but with ads. I have my Samsung Moment and even though i am a bit annoyed and frustrated with the software...i am aware that developers already know about the poor calendar and contacts and the lack of a real search and find within the android software...I cannot wait. It is difficult to do business with such poor software the Moment came with...Good luck to all and let us enjoy the show.
