There's a sticky in the ROMs board about what people are running, but that's only half useful since we don't know what else is on people's phones. So I'm curious what you all have going, how it's running, how battery life is, etc.

Kernel: King's #2
ROM: Skyraider 2.5.2 Vanilla
Radio: 2.15
SetCPU: 1113/245 conservative

I'm testing things out kinda heavily now, but I'm hoping that my battery life will be decent. I can hit ~1400 on Quadrant now, but I admit I'm kinda leery of overclocking, even if I'm on the conservative governor.

ROM: Skyraider 2.5.2
Kernel: Hydrakernel ocuv 1.13ghz
Radio: 2.15
Version: 2.2 (froyo)

So far I love this set up, I have only experimented with a couple roms and I really like this one so far (dont like sense). Although there are some sense features still on. Im getting 1367 in quadrant and average of 35 mflops in linpack. MUCH better than my stock lol. Cant believe I didnt root earlier but glad I waited (bugs).

I think we should post whether we are on 2.2 or 2.1

How's battery life with that? I'm tempted to overclock but I'm not sure I should.

You know Im not sure yet. I just overclocked for the first time yesterday and I havent really unplugged my phone from my comp long enough to see. But my phone was at about 85% and I didnt have it plugged in overnight and when I woke up it was only at 60% (I think). About 9-10 hours on idle.

I am about to flash the kings kernel #2 right now tho :)

***EDIT***

hmmm just tried to run quadrant and got a reboot...ill try it again, if it doesnt work im back to hydra.

Yup the kings kernel is VERY buggy for me, went back to hydra.

Sky raider vanilla, hydra ocuv 1.15, 2.15 radio. Haven't noticed any horrific battery problems with oc kernel, in fact at idle I think its better.2100 battery was thrown in off the wall charger last night sat for over 8 hours with 6 email accounts syncing and my other various crap and it lost a whopping 5% when I grabbed it. I then proceeded to take it down to 30 from there with various Rom install attempts and surfing and downloading etc but that took 8 hours and Im not sure how much it slept but it wasn't much. 3500 in now. I should be able to crush this thing the rest of the day :p

Battery life is pretty amazing, I haven't tested on Quadrant again since I reflashed off of Frankenrom (sick of Sense). Reception's marginally better, I'm actually getting onto 3G once in a while at work whereas before I'd actually lose connection entirely.

I thought I saw in another thread you were having battery drain problems and thought it might be Sky vanilla?

skyraider 2.5.2 sense
2.15 radio
king kernel #2

just installed setcpu and overclocked to 1152, with a few battery profiles and a screen off profile that clocks down to 499. i haven't been using it very heavily since install (only a few hours ago), but i'm still at 91% battery after being off the charger for about an hour and a half. i have been doing a bunch of quadrant benchmarks though, which probably killed most of that 9%...i was at 100% for a good 20-30 minutes after taking it off the charger.

Giving Sky Vanilla 2.5.2 another shot.

I remember that King said his is made for Sense 2.2 ROMs, hoping that that isn't the problem.

Of course, I didn't actually give it a fair shake at all. I only had it charged at around 45% and watched it crumble from there...

did you charge to green with the phone off and then do a wipe battery stats? i did that earlier this morning, was the first time i had done it since i started flashing roms...

Wipe battery stats? What that is?

And nope, didn't charge it at all, LOL.

lol...turn the phone off, and charge til the led goes green. then, boot into recovery and go to advanced, wipe battery stats. then take the phone off the charger and boot normally.

i just dropped to 90%, 2 hrs 5 mins off the charger now. i've got setcpu running and overclocked to 1152, with a screen off profile and a few other battery profiles mixed in...

--- setcpu setup ---

main profile: 1152 max, 245 min, conservative

other profiles...

battery < 10% - 245 max, 245 min, powersave (priority 100)
screen off - 499 max, 245 min, conservative (priority 99)
battery < 17% - 499 max, 245 min, conservative (priority 95)
battery < 25% - 729 max, 245 min, conservative (priority 89)
battery < 35% - 998 max, 245 min, conservative (priority 79)
battery < 50% - 1113 max, 245 min, conservative (priority 69)

---

i'll report back later tonight when i get home around 2am...

I am rooted now, but have to move some files from my card, since not enough space for Nandroid (800mb) and Titanium (500mb). Guessing on Titanium, since not enough space to back apps up after Nandroid, but I have 500mb of apps in the 748mb storage.

That is huge. I guess I will live on the edge and leave both backups on another drive. probably put them on two drives, for redundancy.

I guess tomorrow I will:

1. Unrevoked Forever
2. Install 2.15 radio
3. Install Skyraider 2.52
4. Install King kernel #2

I hope that is the correct order :)

Tell me how the Kings kernel works for you. I used exactly the same method and it would reboot. Most noticeably when using benchmarking apps (Quadrant and Linpack).

And great idea having multiple backups. I couldnt live without 2.

i don't know what's up with those of you having issues, but i'm at just over 8.5 hrs off the charger now and i'm still at 48% w/ king #2, w/ what i'd consider moderate-to-heavy usage (but more on the moderate side). look a little further up the thread for my setcpu settings...

w/o any tweaking my battery would be just about dead by now...
