I am trying to figure out how to delete the internet history completely on the HTC evo. I have the history eraser app, I do that and go to the internet and delete the history cache and cookies manualy but when you hit the back button on the browser it still goes through all of the pages I have been to. Is there some special thing I am missing?

No, you're not missing anything, they just didn't do it right. This is a kludge, but how I get all my history erased is, after clearing the history normally, I open up a new window (menu, windows, press plus sign), it switches to the new window which is my home page, then I press menu/windows again and press X on all the old windows. Now the new window has no history to back up to.

And if you want a real clean sweep of your browsing - connect the EVO to your PC and delete the thumbnail snapshots of your browsing stored in the folder: .bookmark_thumb1

Since I'm new to all this could you please give me more detail as to how to find this file once connected to my PC. I'm using Vista.
R u also saying that even though I have deleted history from my phone that it is still retrievable by viewing this file?

Thanks! Appreciate it!

Using an app killer won't work. I had the same problem, downloaded an app killer (Advanced Task Killer), and even after killing the android Internet app, the previously-browsed web page was still the next time I opened up the Internet app again. However, doing what Kayst outlined did the trick for getting rid of previously-viewed pages.

I connected my Evo to my computer but can't seem to find this file. Where is it located? I am using Vista. Thanks.
I am REALLY annoyed with all the trouble it is to find files and the poor Sync software. The fact that I have to research solutions in a forum because the Evo isn't designed properly REALLY SUCKS!

I tried this and I still have all my recently visited URLs...any other suggestions?
