Hey guys I am fairly new to the incredible and I got mine off of ebay...I was just wondering...My battery door seems fairly flimsy...if I grab the phone on the sides and squeeze a little bit it gives and creaks a bit...it makes the phone feel pretty darn flimsy and was just wondering what you guys have experienced yourselves.

You think I just have a loose/bad battery door? You guys think a replacement may fix this issue???

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Mine does that too, I think its just a little wear from the way you have to 'rip' the door off to get at the battery. You could buy a new one, I've heard that putting a thin piece of cardboard between the door and battery (real thin) helps too.

Another is to get an upgraded battery that gets you a new battery door.

There was a thread about this a while back. Here's what I found.

So I'd guess that the guy who had it before you had an after market battery but put the red stock battery back in before sending it to you.

I got an HTC-brand 1500mAH battery from ebay for $15 shipped (yes, it's legit not a knock off). It's is ever-so-slightly thicker than the original red battery and when it's installed the phone doesn't squeak anymore - plus I get better battery life.

If you're interested in getting that battery let me know and I'll find the name of the seller I bought from on ebay. Several of us on AndroidForums bought from him (I got his name from someone else here) and everyone was pleased.

its bullshit plain and simple. $300 for a phone thats creaking because of bad design flaws. i'm sorry but "get a new battery" or "buy a new door" isnt going to work for me. replace it or fix it and make it right. hell at least apple did that.

walked into verizon, they said "i dont see the problem". what the hell do you mean? it creaks when you hold it. it makes a clicking when you touch it. thats not normal. unless they want an insurance claim every 5 days, fix it. i am pretty pissed about it if you couldnt tell.

Thanks Higgins. 'ppreciate it and sorry for reposting on the issue...I did not find that thread at first. I have read a great deal on the 15 dollar battery and I at first tried a fake 1500 (knock off) and that did not let my door close totally...but my phone was squeeking before this. SO because I wanted an extended battery that actually fit I decided to go with the seidio despite all the complaints about it not really being 1750...The 1750 barely got me much more juice...but lets not start another battery life thread...anyways...I chose the seidio over the 15 dollar one in case it did not fit I could always have great customer service with seidio...anywho...the 1750 fits but I still get a squeek...

I agree with the buying of a new battery, I'm getting the 1500 cause I heard it was a tad bit thicker and stopped the squeaking, but I'm getting it because I want some better battery life. Also, try the cardboard idea.

I love my phone, I love it cause it squeaks, I love it cause its rooted and customized to be unique. I love it for its crappy battery life when I use it all day. I love everything about it, as long as the door works it could yell f*ck you everytime I touched it for all I care.

No need to apologize as far as I'm concerned. That thread is dead, no need to revive it.

That sucks. If mine was squeaking before I had tried an aftermarket battery I might be pissed.

I've had two PMs asking about the ebay seller I used. I'll reply here as well as via PM because I was very relieved to get a direct recommendation for a specific seller, so I'll do the same for anyone reading this. I bought from BidAllies.

Here are several of these specific batteries for sale through his ebay storefront.

$14.95 with free shipping. What you're looking for in his listings is "Brand : OEM / RHOD160 35H00123-00M". (And, if you're wondering, I have absolutely no affiliation with the seller other than being a happy customer.)
