Root htc evo back to 2.1 from froyo

If you did the OTA update then do a hard reset. The OTA update was only an upgrade screwed up a bunch of apps and functions, namely the unit battery life.

Hard resetting will resolve most of those issues and you will love your EVO again. You will lose everything on your phone, but reinstalling apps are simple. Your SD card will remain untouched. Your Google address book will sync when you log back in.
