Last week someone started a thread regarding stealthguards.com offering their full body skins for only the cost of shipping. I ordered one and told several friends they should do the same, which they did.

I got my skin a couple of days ago and finally had a chance to install it last night. I must say it went flawlessly. The cuts were perfect for the X and the installation was a breeze. Make sure you have a solution (mostly water) handy to spritz on the skin before installation (otherwise you will have a hard time lifting and reapplying if you make a mistake) and have a credit card handy to remove air pockets.

I can't say how impressed I am given the total cost for shipping and handling was $2.85 knowing that similar skins retail for as much as $25 a piece.

Stealthguards.com is still offering the skins for only the price of shipping so if you haven't already, make sure you grab some.

Has anyone else had a chance to install their new stealth guard skin? What are your thoughts?

are you for real? Didn't you read http://androidforums.com/droid-x-accessories/146750-free-full-body-stealth-guard-protector-shipping-around-3-a.html thread, actually started by someone else other than whom you mentioned above? The whole 3 pages of complains, including the last page where everyone agrees its POS? Unfortunately, the envelope I got from them today was plain without even returned address and I opened it up by mistake. Nice trick. The guard skin itself felt vinyl/plastic and cheap. I'm not peeling it off or planning to install it. Will send it back for refund. Will just have to pay for a stamp.

Thanks for linking the original post. Reminds me what a bunch of whiny asses frequent this forum.

I understand not being in love with it. But let's face it, it was damn near free. Whenever something is listed as free you can't expect the world. Like many people who complained about the skin, you haven't even attempted to install it. Do you think it's fair not to read a book because your friends didn't like it and the cover didn't appeal to you.

In all fairness I didn't use the screen portion because I have one on my phone already, but the rest of the skin did exactly as it was supposed to whether it was free or full price.

I especially like how you made a smart ass remark about three full pages of complaints considering the first two pages were people saying they had ordered and then bitching that it didn't ship the next day.

You played it up so much and when someone criticized it, you say "what do you expect for $3?". I got mine in a generic envelope, with no instructions. Thankfully It was less than $3, otherwise I would be returning it. Now I can at least put it on my remote or something.

I ordered a screen protector from Stealth Guards for my Palm Pre, and loved it. It was a stretchy material that hugged the phone like a skin.

I just got an EVO and ordered the ez-install, what I thought was the same screen protector, it wasn't. It was the same stiff plastic stuff many cheap protectors are made of. I installed it and my touch screen wouldn't work. So I removed it, and thinking I ordered the wrong protector, I went back and ordered again. This time I ordered the regular protector, thinking the ez-install was different because the protector for my Palm was tricky to install because it was stretchy.

Bottom line is, it was the same cheap plastic as the first one, only this one had cut-outs to cover the sides.

It looks like a bate and switch, if you look on line, the owner of stealthguards.com was accused of being a con artist a while back, the a bunch of posts all over saying good things about Stealth Guards, now it's cheap plastic..........
