Just rooted and already low on internal memory

I just rooted my Hero last week (running Fresh 2.3.3), and somehow I'm already low on internal memory. I don't think I have that many large apps installed. I sorted my apps by size and here are my top 10.

1. Maps 7.60mb
2. Documents to Go 5.59mb
3. Yelp 5.23mb
4. Facebook 4.21mb
5. Where 3.75mb
6. Astro 3.52mb
7. Mail 3.41mb
8. Handcent SMS 3.21mb
9. Dolphin Browser HD 2.99mb
10. Twitter 2.95mb

Any solutions?

i never had alot of internal memory when using fresh roms idk why.

Fresh has TONS of stuff pre-installed. After a clean install of it I have like 50 megs left over.

On CM6 I have about 140ish left over.

Try downloading an uninstaller app, preferrably root explorer (paid), and uninstall things you don't want.

i've kicked much to the curb and still only have 34MB on fresh 2.3.3 immediately after cleaning cache. it sucks really. isn't it partly too because it's deodexed?

Correct.

And yeah, like Zardos, a clean CM6 and Gapps flash (with some removed, of course) left me with about 140 or so free. Pretty typical of AOSP roms though. 21 apps installed on my phone, and still have about 125 left. That's fairly

enjoy sense too much tho. that and i don't want 'quirks'.... more of a 'final froyo build on hero' kind of person, especially if i'm going to give up sense ui. wish we could have our cake (fresh) and eat it too (non deodexed)

Running AOSP roms since I rooted, don't miss sense ui at all. Froyo on the Sprint Hero pretty stable now

Yeah, AOSP roms are seriously the way to do things, ha. I HATED SenseUI for the hour or two I ran stock, yeesh. Maybe I'd like it more if I had a phone more capable of running it without becoming a laggy mess... wait, no, I wouldn't..

CM6 has been pretty damn stable lately, been using it as my daily rom for a week or two now. All ROMs have their quirks no matter what (or stock OSes, heh), but they get ironed out really quickly. That, or you might not even encounter them in the first place.

Fresh 2.1.1 is odexed, and it is polished. No customization, though. you can't flash themes and the like.


It is by far the smallest of the fresh roms as far as the internal memory is concerned...

Csrom 2.1.6 has been the best i have found. Over clocked to 710. Makes an amazining difference compared to stock. I use Autokiller to keep things cleaned up. Tried Setcpu to clock higher, but the phone kept reseting, so had to remove it. He is fixing a ringer issue, but that should be done any day. It won't let you download ringers unless you go to a different theme.
