Hi Joe, welcome to the forums!

D'ya know what I'd quite like to know too. Are you referring to google talk? I thought it worked a little like skype but I'm not sure, I've been using a branded ROM since I got the phone about 3 months ago and just a couple of days ago debranded and got GTalk working.

Cool list of apps? Where to begin.... (in no particular order or categories)

Chrome to phone (if you're on 2.2) is infinitely useful
Movies, Shazam, Barcode Scanner.
Alchemy, Doodle Jump, Bonsai Blast
Epicurious (if you're into cooking that is) eBay, Layar
National Rail, London Journey
Record It, Astrid, Astro
Catch that Bus

The list goes on...

Swift Reply Deluxe is probably one my most used apps. Allows you to send automatic replies via text message to people when they try and call you and you're not available. I've got a few set up like Gym, Driving, Lecture, Work, Studio etc and have written custom messages for each. So useful! It is a pricey app but there are a few versions and I think there's even a free basic version.

Handcent is a really good SMS replacement but some people like ChompSMS, both are free so try em out and see which works for you.

Launcher Pro is a great replacement for the stock Sense launcher. There's a recent thread that explains all about that.

Background and Mabilo Wallpapers are also pretty cool for finding pics for your phone.

Documents to Go - yeah it's not cheap but if you need it it's the best out there.

Aldiko is a great book reader, although personally I can't stand reading anything lengthy on such a small screen. Give me a real book any day! But if you're into that it's really great.

Sky+ (if you have sky) is soooo useful, lets you set your box at home to record shows from wherever you are. Pretty sweet if you realise you're about to miss the start of the latest episode of your favourite TV show!

Errr can't think of anymore off the top of my head
