Root Recommend me a rom please, im rooting again

History:

I recently rooted my phone and flashed the DJdroid V1.2 rom. I was very happy with it but found the 720p choppy. I assumed it was the rom and that the stock froyo rom would be flawless so unrooted and updated to the OTA rom.

Ive since found its cacka on that too and want to unroot again. Why? Because I hate all the adware that flashes everywhere on my phone now its "stock".

The DJDroid rom maker has removed all that crap "Thanks to the maker" :D

So my question is, before I blindly head back to DJDroid V1.2, are there any other roms that I should consider?

The main thing for me is that it looks very similar to the stock rom and has sense as im comfortable with this arrangement.

Many thanks

i use the neophyte rom that has sense & it is a very good rom, also next sense is a very good rom too both are by the same dev.
Not sure you are going to be able to root very easily from the stock froyo rom, Teppic74 will be able to advise you more on that issue though.

Thanks guys.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, im not sure where everything lives yet as I signed up only days ago.

I'll be sure to check your recommendations out anoniemouse! ;)

It depends what you want from a rom. If you want something close to standard, stable, tweaked but cut down, I always recommend a MoDaCo ROM.

Recently, I went for a bit of a departure (Nexus 1 Port) from DeFRoST and I am very impressed. Fast as heck, very stable. Thing is it looks like a vanilla android (because thats what it is) with no Sense on it.

I've used both and love both, but both for different reasons.

Initially I used Modaco R5 with sense, its very close to stock, but more stable, slightly quicker. R8 is the same. with R8, I removed loads of extras and was very happy. The pre-bake R8 I imagine will have a few addons you may not need.

Both roms have a2sd+ (if you download the correct ones).

I like DeFRoST because you can overclock it at the same voltage as HTC, so essentially, faster CPU speeds no more battery drain (in theory).

I'm still very new with defrost and still experimenting. Its fast, but it doesn't really look much like a HTC desire when you're running it. You can change the notification bar colour back to black though

There is no Sense on DeFrost.

I'm probably going to stick with defrost for a while as it is stable for me and im liking my desire looking different to other peoples'

Use the Goldcard tool located in this forum. Make it before you start the process.

Why do people like you have to have a go at people if something is in the wrong forum. You could try being a little more courteous to new members.

I think it could be that some people forget they had to start somewhere, or perhaps have been jumped on themselves when they were new.
Still its not worth getting into an argument with them, ignore them & don't play their games.

You can use the goldcard over & over again no problem, but as you are rooted you only really need it if you unroot.

I would air on the side of caution with the case of an slcd screen as it seems likely you have one, better safe than sorry.

Always check to make sure roms you use support the slcd screen too.

Personally i would also say you posted in the correct section of the forum too, besides a mod would have moved it by now if you hadn't.
