Help LG GT540 battery

Just brought this and the battery goes down in 10% is this normal?

also When you unplug the phone the battery seems to not stay at 100% and goes quickly down.

Mine does this also, but I haven't looked to see if the battery goes down in 10% increments.

I do have the Power Monitor app, which currently says '70%' on it. Coincidence?

Yes when you unplug it it goes to 99 and then falls in a few steps to 90 then 10% increments to 20 when the indicator becomes yellow and then the indicator becomes red when it reaches 15 and then again it falls in shorter increments.How long does the battery last for you ?

Lasts all day for me. Pretty damn reliable.

Just checked, and the Power Monitor shortcut on my Home-screen says 93%. So, it definitely tells you the right amount.

I am using this phone for the last one week. Till 90% it falls in shorter decrements and then it falls in 10 decrements till 15% and then again by shorter decrements till it runs out of battery. My battery is lasting only for a day even with killing tasks regularly... How long does the battery lasts for you guys? I used wi-fi for an hour, music for an hour with shake app, and few calls and messages and some apps and it lasts only for a day

It would last all day if I used WiFi for numerous hours of the day. If I didn't use WiFi at all, I would probably get three or four days out of it.

The three tasks that are constantly open, are antivirus, Dialer, Xbox Live Status Widget. I fully charged it when I first got it, and I usually charge it overnight when I am sleeping.

+1 for the increments mentioned above just in case you needed more proof lol

i use the internet on mine alot each day (wifi and thru 3g) and play games when im bored and i havent had a situation where ive had to run for the charger, lasts all day and then sits on charger overnight , which is all i ask of a phone (take note POS N95 8gb)

Hi All, I fixed this using a free app from Android Marketplace called JUICE DEFENDER FREE , just download it. It has doubled my battery life. It stops your phone using the internet when your phone is locked etc, thus saving battery.

Also, use in conjuction with another free app called Advanced Task killer. It kills unwanted apps runing in background thus saving batter, freeing up the phone processer (phone works faster)

I wonder if anybody experienced following situation. On my GT540 when running some heavier tasks like long phone call (few minutes) or reading with 50% brightness makes battery charge drops down quite quickly but after load decreases it recovers in few minutes. As it looks to me it is either battery has too high internal resistance or piece of software which converts battery voltage into estimated charge does take into account voltage drop under heavy load.
Another strange this I noticed is that battery temperature is always reported to be 0 C.
Any ideas?

Thanks for response. So its probably software misfeature of cheap solution from LG if there is no sensor to evaluate current load at all. In first case let's hope it will be fixed in firmware update.

Does yours also report zero temperature?

i have a nexus one and battey life is shorter than my brothers optimus.
the optimus has a "bug" if we can call it like that, after full charching it drops immediately to 99%.

Check the setting for battery use again 1/2 hr later it show "95%" & this time the battery status bar on top right shows "not fully charge"

Anyone encounter this problem?

The figure that is being quoted for Android System is telling you how much of the battery that has been used, has been used by Android System. This option is useful for identifying apps that are hogging the battery. The time period covered is at the top of the screen.

Well, for me also surprisingly the battery power falls abruptly without using this device. How to save battery life? Please some explain in detail and in a lucid way. Will Juice Defender really work?

@all, try bump charging, my battery lasts longer if I use the bump charge method...

How to bump charge: Charge battery to 100% while it's turned on> Unplug> turn off> charge fully> power on> power off> again charge fully... Then power on and use... It works for me...
