That's the point of this whole thread, if you read it all. There are quite a few apps out there, no one is arguing that. But they are not as developed as they could be. Or should be. (In fact, the thread isn't about iPhone apps at all, really.)
Rather than compete with iPhone's quantity, we should be far ahead of them in quality. I have yet to see that, and I don't think that has anything at all to do with how long the iPhone has been around.
I was hoping a developer would chime in with some level headed reasoning about why they aren't as developed. Is everyone just scrambling to have any old app available? Is there something more difficult about writing them?
