Accessories Unique Skins for the EVO

Very Interesting, but since the face is so minimal (mostly screen and touch buttons at the bottom), i don't see the front screen showing much of one's custom image.

I'm definitely not getting it for the front. I'm actually gonna get a scratch resistant one for the back. As much as I like my Seidio (BB Platinum) case right now, I just ordered a HTC pouch and I'm going to order a couple of skins, just to see if I like it better without the added bulk of the case.

That's what I did for my Touch Pro (non scratch resistant back skin), and it stayed in great shape until I eventually had to get a phone replacement because there were some internal problems with my phone at that time.

If or when I do order this, I'll report my experiences on here.

My EVO is actually my point and shoot camera now...LOL (my old one broke), so I'll have to snag someones camera to take some pics.

I'm actually just waiting on a response from Unique Skins regarding the pictures I'm using. I was reading through their agreement that you have to agree to that mentions information about "copyright infringement," so if the ones I created would fall under that for the name/likeness of certain products in pictures I own, I'm not sure I'm gonna do a custom skin yet...hahaha.

How does it feel? how about the fit?

Feels decent. I'm sure some would find it to be too slippery. I don't mind and it protects the phone just fine. As much as I liked the Seidio case, I prefer this because the phone feels less bulky.

Thing I'm concerned about now is, my phone has been VERY buggy lately (Top notification drop down keeps acting up, dropping down randomnly; Screen sometimes doesn't have any feedback whatsoever, so can't even unlock the phone). It's not because of the skin, just bad timing.

I ordered a skin it one from Sprint. Wasnt happy. I ordered the Urban Camo one thats supposed to be gray, white and black. Well its not. Its like all different shades of blue. Called them and they said thats the actual color. It was not like the one they had pictured on their site. I have to send it back in to get a refund. Plus I didnt even like the way it fit on the back.

After a month on your phone, how are these holding up? Worth the $20 for the scratch-resistant, or should I just get the plain customizable one for $10?

Just bumping this to report how it's holding up after 2 months. It still looks and feels fantastic.

I have the scratch resistant one on and haven't even tried my other ones yet. I actually am on my 4th replacement and re-installed on ALL 4 of the EVO's (even though it's not supposed to be reusable).

I ordered my skin from the Sprint website who uses SkinIt to make the skins. They have discount codes until the 30th I believe too. I like it. :)

Hi...I like your skins...like the green and purple color..it's actually similar colors to a custom guitar I have.

Anyway, I was wondering if the skin choice was something you created/had or was that skin available at the website??

Also, I have a skin with the front and back like you have but I did NOT yet install the front over the face. I was wondering how it feels/works over and around the buttons at the bottom on the front??

THANKS!

You can look though the skint.com website to see if it's a premade skin.

Umm...true but I actually ASSumed from the thread subject that these skins were from the online company "Unique Skins" (uniqueskins.com)!! Ha!! Anyway, uniqueskins.com is another site you can use!!

Secondly, I realized I could look at the site but didn't want to look through perhaps HUNDREDS of skins to maybe find it. Was just hoping for a quick answer

Yeah. I started this thread specifically because I found Uniqueskins to be better than skinit, but others chimed in regarding skinit...LOL.

I understand not wanting to look through hundreds of skins (potentially), but at least try. Skinit.com: Phone Skins, Laptop Skins, iPod Skins, Gaming Skins: Personalization on Demand
I found it in 2 minutes...LOL.

I also want to point out, since you chose to have a smart-ass retort rather than realizing I was just trying to point out that in Kelita's post it clearly says, "...I ordered my skin from the Sprint website who uses SkinIt to make the skins."

I did mine with Skinit, see here.

Looks good!

Question: I see that you put the skin around the "buttons" on the front. I opted NOT to do so. I was wondering how it affected the feel of the buttons, sensitivity, etc??

The only problem I have with my skin...and I do NOT think it is attributable to the SkinIt brand that I used...is that the "side skin" pieces around the sides of my phone didn't last. From the constant in/out of my pocket, I guess the skin kept getting every so slightly "flicked" with material in my pocket or being handled to the point that the adhesive on the skin edge picked up lint or other NON-sticky stuff, eventually pulled a bit and the skin loosened to the point that it would not re-adhere well. It stayed for a while, but didn't last in one particular corner (the corner that goes "head first" into my pocket). I just peeled the "side skins" off.

The back of my phone has remained intact very well. If I got another skin, I would probably NOT opted for the full-body "scratch resistant" and just go with the basic "back only" skin.

Correct. Its why i said in that post that I did not like the front. It felt out of place. So I took them off. the back is another story, I really like it and it is a perfect fit. I would have to look at the package again, casue i swear i did not get any sides. I didn't know it comes with it. At least the website doesn't say it does.

Hopefully it doesn't do what you mention and start collecting lint on the edges, but if it does I'll just order another. Its like having a brand new (white, customized) EVO. :D

Not sure if anybody else has seen this, but I thought it was a pretty unique and cool way to make a skin. There was a video that I saw where the person had a skin on the top of the EVO and then the wallpaper they used on the phone continued on from the skin that they were using.

Has anybody else tried this?
hmm Interesting, do you have the link to that video. I'm curious to see what you are referring to.
