SMS Privacy: Handcent & Super Private Conversation

I need to protect SMS from a few contact from being viewed by others. I found Super Private Conversation working very well. The only problem is Handcent is showing the SMS content in the pull-down notification.

I tried to work around this by turning off Handcent's notification and using the built-in SMS app. The problem is that the notification icon of the built-in does not go away even after viewing the SMS.

Any idea?

I know this thread is old... But in case anyone else has this problem...

Disable Handcent notifications and set the notifications in SPC under Settings then "Non SPC Message"

Works great...

hi, have a htc wildfire, everytime i get a message it comes up with who's sent it and part of the message- so anyone who picks up my phone can see what im recieving, can i stop this from happening.
also can i put a lock on notifications etc

There is a setting in Handcent to use Privacy mode.
Settings> Notificaion Settings>Notification Settings?Privacy mode.
It will the still show the icon in notification bar but will not scroll the info and message text in the bar.

Also, under Settings>Notification settings>Pop up settings you can enable privacy mode too for pop up.

Just a ? But why not just use handcent to hide your texts? Wouldn't it be easier than using stock plus 2 apps? I have alot to hide believe me and handcent works perfectly no notifications at all doesn't show to enter a password..

Just so you guys know, just because you blacklist a conversation in Handcent DOES NOT MEAN ITS BLACKLISTED IN THE STOCK MESSAGING APP! In fact, the stock messaging app WILL show your blacklisted conversation. Only thing I can suggest is to find an app that allows you to hide or lock apps. Then all you have to do is lock or hide the stock messaging app.

Then all you have to do is lock or hide the stock messaging app.

You can always do a few things to remedy this:

1. Root your phone and remove the stock Messaging.
2. Use Launcher Pro and hide its icon from the app tray.
3. Use an app to lock the Messaging app and there are quite a few apps that allow it.

Sorry but i have the mytouch slide and maybe is just my phone but my blacklist DOESN'T show in my stock msg

you should try shady sms pro on the market....best app avaliable for that and works great with handcent!

p.s.....messages DO NOT show up in the stock messaging application with shady sms

Did you pay the 8 dollars. and if so its worth it that much. I jsut cant have ppl finding texts.

use go sms pro v3.5 it has private msg option which will not show msg content ill bet u ll be satisfied ))))) so long

I NEED HELP!I blacklust someone and after a few messages,it shows my blacklist thread on the handsent grey.i do not want them showing..what do i do??
