(Not so) Incredible ranking in battery life

meh, my battery out-last all of those... all 2150mah of it.

but why are we scoring so terribly mah for mah? My dad has the 2150mah and it probably lasts somewhere around where the Droid X scored. Maybe a bit better...but it is 2150mah vs. 1500mah!

Oh well, I'm done with my rant. Still love the phone and would take it over the others if given the choice again.

I'd like to see a graph that matches mah to mah. Obviously a 1350 isn't gonna match up against a 1500, so the graph doesn't say what the PHONE does against the others.

i expect it to still be worse than the Motos, but i'm wondering if it is better than the Samsungs.

either way, i'm able to push my battery for almost 2 days, and that is plenty for me. I'm rarely in a position where I'm not near an outlet, computer, or in my car for 2 days.

I blame sense personally, loaded vanilla Rom and battery life changed to fantastic, on stock battery can easily match my wifes x hour to hour. I love sense but I honestly think its the hog.

Nope. I'm running sense (Adrynalyn's 2nd wave & the 2 froyo leaks prior to that), and I get ~36hrs on my 1750mAh battery. Haven't tried the stock battery since I got this one, but considering that the 1750 is reported to not truly produce an extra 400mAh, I'd expect to get 20 - 30hrs on that one. That said, this didn't happen until I updated the radio and installed froyo. I was averaging around 16hrs when all stock.

It will vary hugely from person to person. There are just so many variables that will affect battery life (signal, apps running, wifi, bt, etc). I wish people would stop making blanket statements about the incredible's shitty battery life. I couldn't be more pleased with what I'm getting, and I'm certain there are a lot of others who feel the same.

the x and d2 both lcd screens compared to our amoled, similar results for the galaxys' superamoled

we get better colors, less life

What is it about Froyo that makes the battery last longer?

Not sure. Since I did both the radio & the initial froyo leak at the same time, I'm not entirely sure which made the difference, or if it was a combination of both. While I'm curious too, ultimately I'm just happy to have over doubled my battery life with no real effort. I'm almost afraid to try messing with setcpu profiles now.

Also, I haven't done a bump charge since. If I didn't bump when stock, that would cost me at least 2hrs of battery life a day.

Actively? Nothing. Passively however, the Android platform itself is significantly more efficient with managing itself and operating; these efficiencies may lead to an increase in battery for some, but not all, users. If you hammer on your phone 24/7 your battery life is still going to be just as poor.

I have had days where it burns through it in 4 hours and others where it lasts all day. There are so many variables that you can't equate one persons to another. How many of you have downloaded an app that kept your phone from sleeping? It has happened to me on more then one occasion.

I've had that too. Mostly the 4 hour burn-outs. The lasting all day usually involves not having any email synching whatsoever and full on wifi.

That's alright, I'd take the Dinc out of any other phone out there right now

My 2150mAh smokes all those...best upgrade I ever made for Dinc and it was only $33 for the VZW HTC battery - woot!

And your phone is now twice the size it was originally, and cant fit in any case. This is a major issue for a lot of people (myself included). That's why people are opting for the 1500 & 1750 mAh batteries.

On stock (1300) I pretty much go all day w/ medium use (emails and occasional surfing from 6am - 5pm) and have about 30% of my battery left.

On the (1500) htc battery, w/ the same use I have about 40% of my battery left by 5pm.

For a smartphone, I find that pretty darn impressive. Anyone who is complaining about battery life either has a bad battery, apps that are killing it, or they're a heavy user and in that case they should upgrade to a 2150 or 3500.
