So I have no clue how I got the scratch, but I have about a half inch scratch on my phone. It's very light and usually covered by a finger print. I am going back to screen protectors but I would say for a first scratch not a bad run. I have kept it naked since I bought it and have had kept in my keys with pockets. Honestly I wouldn't doubt thats how it happened !

I have a scratch too... the weird thing is I had the vzw screen protector on and still do. I recently changed screen covers since you get three with vzw. The "scratch" is about one mm long and was under the screen protector. I don't know how it got there. I thought the screen protector was scratched but it looks like its the screen... could it be a minor crack??? This sucks...

Dropped mine while cycling, thought it was in my back pouch..NOPE!!!...KABOOOM...BACK OFF, BATTERY OFF.multiple scratches along one side. I was upset at first, bu tfor the kind of finish the Dinc has I rubbed it down a bit..no worries, I'll be getting the bigger HTC model when it comes out in a year or so...I love this phone..and FYI, this is my second drop. I have always had Seido cases..oh well

Well, aren't you just too smart?!

I think that most people who buy these phones, or I guess any more expensive phone, hold on tight to the availability offered to them of the factory refurbished warranty. Many of us posters here, and I'm guilty of it too, as soon as we find something wrong with our phones go running to the CS Reps.

If it is a real thing then I totally support it. and I'm not saying this is what anyone has done, I'm calling NO ONE out here.
but once there is enough scratches, call up CSReps and say, oh well my speaker blew, ect. ect. and there ya go. I went through 4 Eris' within 6 months, but those were real issues, and Verizon gave me this Incredible free of charge due to those issues.

Esp. the release of S-On, I am sure there will be a buncho FRU (factory refurbished units) being sent out in the hear future.

could this be a reason why I feel better about not using a screen protector or a case, absolutely, in my mind, as long as the I haven't done anything like gotten the phone wet, and I REALLY do have the issues I am saying, then I believe a FRU is in order.
