Pry the kickstand off the case. Kinda work from front and back. There is some adhesive, as well as two tiny tabs that can slightly be seen in the third picture.
Cover the area with tape. Masking tape would be best, but I did not have any.
Measure to find the center line and transpose the main hole as well as the two slots for the tabs to sit in. Note that you do NOT need the two small holes can be seen from inside the case, just the two slits for the tabs to fit in. Cut out the little square from the tape.
Heat a razor blade with a heat source. The razor blade heats up and cools down quickly. This is good because you dont want to have a lot of heat to transfer into the plastic, then things get all warpy. Take your time during this part. I probably went through 20 heat cycles while doing this.
Make a couple test scratches in the middle of the cutout to get a feel for it. While cutting - don't try to pull/push the blade much. It should just ease through. Once it loses its heat stop or you might end up slipping the blade across the case.
After cutout is removed, heat blade up more and bend over tip with pair of pliers. Use this to create the slots for the tabs. Be real careful - I ended up with a very slight bump on each side of the kickstand here. It isn't noticeable unless I look for it, but it could have been worse.
Remove any burring from around the holes. Test fit the tabs one side at a time. I had to touch up my tab slots.
Install the kickstand. I found that my tabs locked in so tightly that I did not need any adhesive. Your results may differ. Note the two small bumpps created during the slotting process.
After doing this my kickstand now has a much better level of tension to pop out. It is still help firmly in place, but can now be opened easily with one finger.
