Netflix released their app for the Iphone today. It still pretty buggy. Hope they use the iphone to sort out all the issues and then give us Droid lovers the polished version soon. Ill be glad when big name companies decide that its beneficial to release apps for both platforms at the same time, kind of like they used to do for PALM and Windows mobile.

Netflix has to support many platforms (smartphones, blu-ray players, media players, etc), but they are definitely working on it. As for a timeline, this article seems to indicate it might be a while before we see it, but at least they are hiring dedicated people for the Android platform:

Netflix Streaming Is Coming to Your Android Phone [APP]

At least manufacturers are starting to take Android seriously, some of them even abandoned Windows Mobile in favor of Android (before Windows Phone was even announced).

I was under the impression that Flixster only lets you access your netflix queue, but not the streaming movies that we're hoping for, am I wrong there?

Whats funny about that is that the Netflix app for iphone only allows for streaming and viewing your instant que(you cant manage your dvd que). So flixter is still necessary.

Why only Droids? What do you have against other Android phones?

:p

I meant all Android phones, I was just using "Droid" as a colloquialism.
