Setting up mail ??

Hi all I am trying to set my mail up and I am getting the follwong error

"Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding."

I am trying to set it up on google mail

Many Hero owners have that problem unless they setup the Google mail application when you unbox and switch the phone on for the 1st time.
You could reset the phone and start over.

That's not good I have spent two days setting it up. I read somewhere that the is a way around it without doing a factory reset but can't remember where a read it.

Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Google Apps > "Clear data" > OK.

This will delete the Google account details on your mobile.

To enter new details Menu > Settings > Data Synchronization > Google and you'll be prompted with the set up dialogue. Enter your new account details. Hope this helps

Nice one, ok that worked so are all my contacts now backed up on Google ?

Also when I click on the standard HTC mail box on my home screen I angle click on Google mail I still get the same error

grrrrrrrrrr..i got my Gmail account set up on teh phone..now when i goto set up my other email address my POP mail account..they dont work..i get CAN NOT CONTACT SERVER...BLAH BLAH...
