A question that has probably already been asked

I'm trying to listen to a local radio station on my Eris via their website (98.9 The Bear::::Your ROCK Station) the URL for the stream should be (http://v4.player.abacast.com/player/player.php?pid=1183)
Not having any luck though.

I have tried going through every radio app I have seen with no luck so far (A Online Radio, iHeartradio, flycast, cherry rplayer) All of them say that its a non working URL

Have tried opening the site on multiple browsers (default browser, dolphin, skyfire, opera) None of them will open the stream to listen to it, they just re-open the radio station home page.

I have a feeling there is a simple solution to get this to work and I am just completely overlooking it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just opened it on my desktop; that's a Flash player. I guess that the built-in Flash Lite doesn't work with it.

Perhaps a rooted phone with a ROM that supports Flash will work with it, but otherwise, you are probably out of luck.

Alright. Tried both of those ROMs and they both give me a blank screen that says that I need to download Flash. I click the link to download Flash and it sends me to the download site, but it says that it is not supported by my OS and it won't let me download. Can I download it from somewhere else?

What apps are there? I've tried a couple but none of them let me listen to the only station that I want.

Try Tainted Tenzo again. From the first post in his thread:

* upon first flash site visited, you may get the "Plug-in Missing" icon until the flash file loads. Then, you will see the hour-glass, and video/item will load.

It may be the same with the xtr ROMs. Again, I despise Flash myself, avoid it like the plague, and I definitely don't want it on my phone, but these seem the best chance on the eris right now (that I know of.)

I would try Tuned.Mobi first and see if that will work for you. Sorted by country and state.

For apps:

I use RadioTime and love it. You can check to see if the station you want is listed here (it shows The Bear 98.9 (WNBR-FM) and The Bear 98.9 (WBYR) as working stations). It isn't free, but is only $1.99 right now.

There is also XiiaLive that has a lite and paid version that is $3.99.

WunderRadio will also use all the stations on Radiotime and Tuned.mobi, but it is $6.99

One of these options should work for you and remember there is a 24 hour return policy if you just want to test one out.

Edit: Just checked and The Bear is playing Godsmack - Voodoo on my phone right now through RadioTime.

This is a better answer if that's all that you need, but anybody who wants Flash 10.1 on an Eris, my post is still useful. ;)
