Help How do I supress auto-music on BT linking?

My car has BT for 'phone' and 'audio'. I never play audio that way though. The problem is that when I get in the car and it BT connects, the phone auto brings up the music app and starts to play. I don't have the car head unit set for that input method, so the tunes go nowhere, but suck battery life.

There is no way to tell the head unit to not use BT audio when connected. Is there a way to have the phone not bring up the music app when BT connected?

From 'Bluetooth settings' on your phone, you can select whether to use BT for phone and/or media audio. Just un-check the media audio one and problem should be solved.
My 'Bluetooth Settings' does not show that, and 'Advanced Settings' only has FTP on/off.

I did discover if you press and hold the device listed there when it is connected, the menu comes up relating to how you want that device to connect. That is actually better that I thought it would be, so you can pick and choose what BT devices have what connection types. Thanks for the pointer.

New PITA. The above reply from me says I figured out how to tell phone not to connect to Media, just to Phone. However, every time I power off/on the vehicle and the phone reconnects, the setting in the phone for Media is back to being checked. I'm running Virtuous 2.7, but it's pretty vanilla and I doubt it's causing the problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. Is there a way to tell the phone to never use that feature on any vehicle?
