Root Easy root for 2.2?

I keep looking and can't find anything yet. Most likely due to the fact that it doesn't exist?

Is there a one click root method yet for 2.2? For those of us who are...

A) Too lazy to figure out how to do it the hard way
B) Use a Mac
C) Had root on 2.1, but lost it when upgrading to the leaked 2.2
D) All of the above

I choose 'D'. What gives? Any ideas?

If you have access to PC you can use Droid 2 method.

I did this last night and it is really easy. Just copy and paste commands.

I'm in the same position as the OP and I'm sticking it out until the official 2.2 release.

I am sure this isn't 'hard', in the true sense of the word. However, setting up ADB on my wife's PC was even looking like too much of a hassle.

Case in point: I tried to read up on how to root using the Droid 2 method mentioned in a post above. Step 1? Install ADB. OK, then. What is ADB? No worries, I am sure that the page where I am told to install ADB from mentions it... Um, no.

OK, fine. At this point I assume that I am somehow supposed to know what ADB is already. Now I have to read up on it and how it is related to the SDK I suppose. A quick search uncovers no less than 10 sets of instructions on how to install the SDK. The first 3 that I read conflict in more than one step, and these steps appear to matter.

Now, I am sure the passionate devs out there are working hard to make this stuff as easy as it is plentiful. The true genius behind Android is its openness and ability to customize. I am a fan for sure. However, if true customization can only be realized by a very, very small segment of users, then it kind of loses it's punch.

So ef it. I'll wait for an easy root solution to come through. In the mean time, I will deal with these 'super cool' steal blue swipe-to-unlock icons and the 'Window XP Gray' status bar. Oh, and I want wireless tether back too!
