Launching 9/9/2010....shipping 9/6/2010 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so are you getting fascinate ?

LOL, yes I would have owned the Fascinate by now if it was out on verizon earlier. I have the Vibrant, and besides the GPS, I love this phone. BTW, the GPS optimization will be released soon, but I bet the verizon version will ship with it.

So ya, I may be saying bye bye to T-mobile soon and hello Verizon. Sept 9th seems sooo close but sooo far away! Ahhhhhh

Can any veteren Verizon customers tell me a little about your experience with the company. How is their customer service? Coverage? 3G? Billing practices? Any hidden fees?

Thanks.

@samsungvibrant, being a former customer of Cingular...now AT&T, Verizon's customer service "wowed" me.

Their network coverage is as advertised. It is far better than AT&T (I got some complete dead spots with AT&T in the Dallas metro area... yes, dead spots in the 4th largest metro area in the U.S.!!!).

I do the e-Billing and it is very convenient. All charges are explained thoroughly on the statement.

Some people might complain about Verizon's rate is higher than other carriers. But it is really not much. And in my humble opinion, very often, you get exactly what you pay for. :)

Before all these Android invasion, I wanted the iPhone. But I like Verizon so much and dislike AT&T so much that I don't want to change carrier. Yes, Verizon is a little slower to release new devices. But sometime, it might not be a bad thing. For example, the GPS issue on some of the earlier releases of Galaxy S variants.

Verizon Wireless has far more pros than cons. As a consumer, I always stay with #1 or sometime #2 in their domain...whether it is fashion/clothing or TV or camera or car. I almost never go below #2. And in my humble opinion, Sprint and T-Mobile are #3 and #4 and they are the 2nd tier carriers. On the 1st tier between Verizon and AT&T, I choose Verizon any time any day. :)

Thank you, for that detailed review of verizon. Truth is I had verizon wireless back in the day when nobody had cell phones. It was about 11-12 yrs ago. Anyways, I had a very awfull billing problem, where they billed me over a thousand dollars for 1 months worth of service for incoming calls that I never accepted or even talked. Also back in the day, incoming calls just said "incoming" they never showed who the number was from. So I payed the bill, switched to cingular, now I'm with t-mobile for almost 6 yrs. T-mobiles customer service is great, their coverage lacks. I need more coverage, I will go back to verizon, but the billing mistake of 11 years ago has put a very sour taste in my mouth. I must add, it went beyond billing mistake, the customer service rep actually started cussing me out, threatening me. Not just 1, but more than 1 rep. Ya it was shocking.

I was a long time Sprint customer who went to T-Mobile and got the Vibrant. Was happy with the phone minus the GPS and some other little bugs here and there but you are right their coverage is a joke. I live in Houston and according to their maps it should be HSPA+ everywhere within 5 miles of downtown. This is total BS of course, I would fall to EDGE all over town even when outdoors. It's really sad because when the 3G was on it was lightening fast 3-5mbps but EDGE is unacceptable to me in a major city. I moved to Verizon and the Droid X 4 weeks ago and have been super happy with the decision. Sure, 3G isn't as fast as T-Mobile but I consistently get between 800-1500kbps and almost never fall below that, even indoors thanks to much of their network being at 800mhz. Customer service has been good too. I had an issue with my first bill and they fixed it in one phone call in less then 3 minutes. So trust me, you won't regret the move to Verizon.
