Help Where did the Photos Go?

I noticed that when I take a picture that the photo does not show up in the Gallery until I restart my phone? Also when I select to edit a contacts photo to select a photo to put in it the gallery comes up empty with no photos in it. I close it and open again and they all appear. I have had this issue with the original microSD card and a new 16GB card. Is this a common problem or is this just my phone?

you don't need to restart the phone, restarting the Gallery should be enough, but even though, it's a bit annoying sometimes

Nothing is wrong with your phone. Since it's inception Android has been very unpolished, and this is just another small glitch you'll have to live with.

I used to have to restart the gallery 3 to 4 times every time I opened it from my Home screen to get it to show me photos and videos instead of "No items".

My other solution was to go to the gallery from the Camera instead of from the Home screen and that would fix it too.

The other day I wasn't able to send any text messages or make calls all of a sudden so I pulled out the battery, SIM, and SD card and put them back.

Haven't had any more issues since, but it's only been a couple of days.

No, the folder "DCIM" should be in the root of your SD card. In there you should find at least one map that contains pictures of your camera. Other camera apps tend to create new folders within the DCIM folder aswell.
FOUND IT!!! lol, thanks :D yeah...I was trying to find 'gallery' or 'camera' or something. Would never have looked in the DCIM folder. WTH is DCIM...digital camera imaging? I still think a folder call Gallery would have made sense :(

Oh btw, congrats on your promotion Moderator Roze ^^

Thanks Tekno! :D was 'promoted' yesterday with a slew of other newbie mods...I feel like a noob...I think I'll forever be a noob with some of the questions I ask XD Being a MOD is not as easy as I thought it was, lol...I give kudos to all of the senior MODs!

Hehe, I hear ya! I've been there, back in the days and sticking with it takes a lot of devotion.
I know I'll eventually lose some interest so I'm not gunning for any positions anymore :p

Btw, don't worry.. It is only by posing enough noob questions that you can finally transcend noobdom and begin your path to the enlightened way of INTERNET GURU! :D
