1 Million Phones Sold!!!

September is later this year, and it has 30 days in it, so I don't get how that quote tells you it's not coming in Sept.

Well because it was galaxy s phones that were supposed to get froyo in sept, and att is always slow with updates. If i am not mistakened the european version of galaxy s came out an month and half before the captivate?

Not bad. I googled and apparantely iPhone 4 sold 3 million in a little over a month, although it was supposedly supply constrained.

So for a single Android phone to do 1/3 as much as the much hyped iPhone4 in a similar time frame is indeed impressive. Once you add in all the other popular Droid phones like Evo, Droid X, Droid 2 etc no question it's easily beating iphone.

Though, I'm guessing Epic 4G's and Fascinate's may already be shipping and counted in that total along with Vibrants and Captivates, helping that number. Still impressive.

well i think carriers being slow to update i am thinking he means att. They are usually pretty slow with everything. Is the 1 million worldwide or is that for us bound galaxy s phones ?

article stated us shipments, and only 2 carriers (t-mobile & att).

"Bringing Galaxy S devices to multiple carriers has given Samsung Mobile the opportunity to reach millions of consumers," said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile in a prepared statement. "I am proud of the instant success of the Galaxy S line up and I am very pleased to announce that because of the support of our carrier partners and loyal customers, we have shipped one million Galaxy S devices in the U.S. market. Samsung Mobile looks forward to sharing additional Galaxy S milestones in the future."

I would love to see CRAPPLE crumble....I will eventually, but it will take some time. Who even buys thier crappy over priced stuff. My daughter is complaining she wants an IPOD touch... I haven't laughed that hard in a while...I told her I would get her a ZUNE HD, $60 cheaper and 2X the memory. And I know a few people who have switched from crapple products to the Zune and love the Zune better....

Haha, iPhone and iPod touch is pretty good. I mean, I'm strong anti-Apple, but yeah, buy your daughter the iPod touch. First of all, it has the app store with the billions of applications, and also, everyone has one. I'd spend the extra 60 since it really is a good phone. The only thing that's truly bad is the tight hold that Apple has on their store in terms of monitoring and monopolies. Other than that, it's all good.

The monitoring of the Apple store is both good and bad. I like there being a minimum bar that developers have to hit or exceed. I don't like how they refuse so many apps because of what they do rather than being quality programming.

As for the galaxy-s having shipped over 1million, that is great, but would be a lot better if they were all shaped the same. Also, as much as I hate to admit it, what do you think the iPhone numbers would be if it was also available for all 4 major carriers or at least Verizon as well.
