Did my Droid get Hi-Jacked?

On Nov 29 at 7:00am my phone woke me up with a alarm. I did not have any alarms set. I found a new program installed on my phone name "Round Timer" and it was on.

Now just to be clear I DID NOT BUY OR INSTALL this app. I did however get an e-mail to my google mail account that i did buy this app at 6:15 am on Nov 29. Now I was sound asleep.

Now the app looks like some type of timer for boxing. I do not do, watch, or like boxing.

Anyway Did this happen to anyone else? Can anyone tell me of a way someone can hi-jack my phone. And is there anything I should to to the phone to prevent this?

While at home My phone is connected to my WiFi with a encryption key. That is all with my firewall/router.

New one to me however one thing you might do is contact the developer and ask them to verify who's name the payment (credit card?) for the application was under. There should be a way they can identify the actual name of the purchaser of the software was, not just the email address.

I'm relatively new to the Droid, Android and the Market so others may have a better solution to figure this one out.

Most likely not. Keep in mind that the Android apps can do as they please for the most part. So it's very possible this came with another thing you downloaded. When youre phone is hi-jacked it either to steal data or as a joke.

Is it possible to be signed in on two Android phones with one Gmail account?

If it is, someone could be signed in as you on another Android phone, and purchased the app. Due to the fact that the phone is always syncing with Google's servers, the app could then have pushed itself onto your phone.

Just throwing out ideas.

Are you using a non original charger?... it a long shot but some after market chargers casuse the screen to go crazy... clicking everything in sight.

I did send a request to GogleStore. The only hope I have is to know the IP address used. Since the account used is my gmail account it is my E-Mail and my cardnumber. And yes I did change my password.

That does not say much for the system then. I did not download anything that day. I did buy any apps. This app that did download is not a free one. And the transaction happened at 6:15 am when I was asleep.

No I only have one Droid. I do not even know anyone with a Droid. But I did change my password anyway.

please keep us updated in reguards to this matter. I know it's possible, but I have not herad of it being done. It most likely happened with your gmail account and not the actual phone. But I may be wrong.

Were you charging the phone with an official charger? Some cheap aftermarket chargers can cause random activity on the phone such as opening programs and other screen presses. Could be that an unauthorized charger may have downloaded the app.

Or could it have been someone playing with your phone and downloaded it?

Have you uninstalled the app? In my experience if you uninstall a paid app within so many hours you get a automatic refund.
