How Do You Carry Your Droid (Case/SnapOn Cover)

I just wanted to start a thread about this and see some of your thoughts. I bought my droid and put the screen protector on and got the body glove case for it as well.

Well, I took the screen protector off almost immediately and couldn't believe how much better the touch screen worked without it. Now, I've taken the bodyglove off and it's so much nicer without that as well. I bought a slide in sleeve for it for now to carry it in. How are you guys carrying your droids and how do you like the setup? Naked users post your thoughts too

Haven't done that with a phone in a while, but the Droid is about as large a phone as I can stand to carry, so I just don't want any additional bulk.

I liked the body glove until I used my phone without it. The material makes it hard to get in your pocket but makes it nice as far as not sliding on certain surfaces. I may put it back on eventually. I got the insurance, it's a rip but these phones are expensive.

I carry mine naked. It's such a sleek and good-looking device that I can't bring myself to put a case on it. I do, however, have a Verizon-issued holster that I have yet to use. It's more for the summer months when I'm wearing shorts and the Droid may slip out of my pocket more easily than jeans.

The more I think about it, though, the more I wouldn't be opposed to an iPhone style gel cover, even if the physical keyboard usability was lost. Those gel covers are pretty easy to slip on and off, and if I needed to get to the physical keyboard, I could.

Naked, but I'm finding that the screen is a smudge-magnet, so requires constant cleaning. Anyway, like I said in a previous post, I don't want to surround the phone in "armor". It's too sexy to be hidden..haha.

mine has a phantom skin screen protector and only the top (bezel cover) part of this case:

seems to provide adequate protection and i don't have to remove anything to put it in the car dock.

Screen protector and the clip-on holster. Easy access and the screen is protected. However, sometimes I get clothes stuck between the droid and case when clipping in (especially while trying to do this sitting).

I carry mine naked, which is a first for me, all my other phones had some type of holster that clipped to my belt. I don't know if i want a holster or not, haven't found one I like.

I use the blue hard shell, smooth snap on cover.

I kind of like the look of the blue on black when the light hits it right. Also while I am really careful with all my stuff I hope that if I ever drop it, even a short distance that I can at least prevent my phone from getting scratches and chips.

Shell/Holster combo. I sometime use a pouch when I want to keep the phone in my pocket with out the extra bulk.

I also had the Body Glove case for a while but was too hard to take off and I was afraid I'd break the phone doing it eventually. The Shell/Holster combo is much easier to take off for use with the car dock.

The issue I have with the plastic cases is they are too bulky and quite ugly. Even the black case looks like a cheap-o black case (which is frustrating since the Droid looks like anything but cheap). Also the more rubberized cases look better but don't stay on well. I bought one at Verizon and returned it while still in store. They also make it difficult to put in and out of pocket.

The Seidio cases seem to be made of plastic but has the soft touch finish tat allows better gripping and easier sliding in pocket.

Lemme know if anyone has had experience with cases from them.

Naked and in my pocket. Since the phone already has a soft touch back, I don't feel in danger of dropping it.

I use the Verizon holster. I've always been a holster guy. Clips into my pocket nicely and onto my car visor perfectly.

I had a Seidio holster for my Storm and didn't love it. The soft touch plastic made it frustrating to get it out of my pocket. It was well made, though.

I just got the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD. It's a clear full-body film protector that allows the beauty of the Droid to shine through. It adds no bulk and I don't have to remove anything to dock it or use other accessories. It is a military grade film originally developed to protect helicopter blades. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but the cases out there are ugly, bulkly and don't necessarily work with accessories. I can throw this in my purse and not worry about scratches.

Currently using the cover holster and like it a lot.. reminds me of the seidio case's thinness and doesn't add too much bulk to it.. I used to use the holster portion too but now just se the cover part now. I don't use the real keyboard on this so if a company were to make a one piece case id rock tht

I tried the Zagg. Unfortunately they don't use the application spray anymore and instead give you this black sponge soaked with some sort of liquid. My problem is that the black sponge left little pieces of black sponge on the film protector and as hard as I tried I couldn't get it all off. I emailed Zagg this last weekend after attempting the install and I finally heard from them today. They state, and I quote:

"I'm sorry to hear that your installation didn't go well. We no longer use the SHIELDspray application process because many times when we would ship the SHIELDspray with orders, they would leak and destroy the products that we were sending. I do apologize. In general, our lifetime replacement guarantee only covers normal wear-and-tear issues, such as scratching and peeling, and typically does not cover installation difficulties, however, I am willing to extend a one-time courtesy replacement for you. Also, as the sponge did cause some of the installation trouble, I would be willing to waive the normal shipping and handling fee that we would charge for the warranty requests.
To process your replacement request you will be asked to provide a credit or debit card. Your card will be pre-authorized for the retail value of the product you are replacing. You will have 25 days to return your original product. When we receive the original product back, the pre-authorized charge on your credit or debit card will be removed. Your card will be charged in full if the original product is not returned within 25 days."


Sounds as if they are doing me a GREAT favor. You decide if this is a company and product you want to spend $25 on.

the seidio innocase is available from their website. Im using the shell holster combo now. might change if the seidio is any beter. I have always loved their cases on all my other phones.
