Help Newbie help pls

Hello Everyone

This is my first post so I will start by saying hello. I will pop to the introductions thread as well as when I understand the phone I would like to give some back if I can.

I have two issues I am having trouble resolving. The Desire is our first Andriod phone. (actually its my wifes) I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 for work reasons. Anyway we have been setting her phone up (its on Orange and a branded Orange handset at that). and my probs are:

1) Syncing. I downloaded the latest version of HTC Sync from their website and installed it and set the Desire up to Sync out contacts, calender from Outlook and a couple of playlists from iTunes. We also set up a folder for some pics.

This was fine and the sync got most of the way through then stopped and said 0 bytes free. OK i thought I will resize all of the photos to make them smaller and change the iTunes playlists and remove some.

That did not work as when I resynced it got to the end and failed. Saying "sync cancelled".

Odd,. so I tried and again and nothing. So I reformatted the 4GB SD card that it came with a tried again. Now the iTunes playlist I want to import is about 2GB so thats OK and the card was saying 3.79 free but when I clicked within the HTC Sync program and said I wanted to ync this itunes folder it said it was only 0.4 GB and again failed right near the end of the Sync.

Also when it failed all of the iTunes playlists where greyed out/

Any ideas please on how to sort this out?

2) this is a silly one. We really like the size of the contact favorites box on the social theme but we are using the HTC theme which has the full size favorites box. How can we make this box half page width like on the social theme please?

Not sure about 1, but for 2 are you talking about the People Widget?

If so, remove and re-add teh people widget. When you preview it there is a left and right arrow to choose different styles before you add. There are 2 styles. Full screen or half.

The 1) one is driving me mad. I have reformatted the SD card and it still will not Sync properly. Keep getting "Warning the last synchronization was cancelled".

I have run a "repair" of the installation of HTC Sync 3.0.5422 but still nothing.

You select your iTunes playlist and it says 0.0GB which I know is not true.

So frustrating. Time to email HTC I think.

Also, I got caught in the TrafficTV con by Orange. I so which that all the crap from the phone was removed and it came "vanilla" from HTC. My bad I spose as the phone was free but still.
