First off let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Epic 4G so far. The biggest difference for me coming from an EVO is the beauty of the screen. I work with several techies at my job so I asked to borrow an iPhone 4 and an EVO. I pulled the same web pages on each machine to compare image quality and DAMN! I never realized how bad the screen on the EVO was. Proves that bigger isn't always better. The major shootout was between the EPIC and the iphone. While most everyone liked the EPIC'S screen better, the consensus we all reached is that the iphone has a more realistic picture while the EPIC has the colors more saturated.
Now back to my point. With this beautiful screen comes great sacrifice. The battery life on this thing (so far) is terrible! The fantastic screen eats battery like no other! As of typing this on my new phone, I have it unplugged for 33 mins with the battery at 58% with the display using 83% of the battery! I have the screen brightness at about 90% and this feels unacceptable. I've never been one to be conservative with screen brightness levels so I've never seen something drain this hard this fast. Hopefully its just a breaking in thing but current owners, please give me some feedback because I don't know if I can do a year with this issue.
