Root Super Circle Battery % mod

Yeah, I a bit confused myself. The instructions said to go in the the ROM's zip file. Do we go into the one on the SD card, or go into the actual file itself that the ROM creates? It says to rename it, but do we download the file and rename it first. I'm lost on this one.

Your supposed to take the framework-res.apk file from the ROM you currently use and upload it to that site and it will auto-create a zip file for you to flash. I went with Smooth-Sense mod. It was 1000x less complicated lol.

I got it to work! I now have an awesome blue circle battery in the notification bar. It was a bit easier than I thought; I think I was over thinking it yesterday.

I'm going to paste the directions from the XDA website, and then add more step by step that I did to it.

XDA directions:

  1. I recommend you to make a Nandroid Backup.
  2. Get your framework-res.apk file from the ROM zip file (DeFrost, OpenDesire, Sense.... etc, etc)
    location is: /system/framework/framework-res.apk
  3. IMPORTANT READ THIS:

wrong renaming or uploading wrong files will result in nothing (no framework no response)

    RENAME YOUR framework-res.apk file to:
    example: CGframework-res.apk

AB = Version A, Black numbers
AW = Version A, White numbers
BB = Version B, Black numbers
BW = Version B, White numbers
CG = Version C, Grey numbers
DB = Version D, Black numbers
DW = Version D, White numbers
EG = Version E, Grey numbers
FB = Version F, Black numbers
FW = Version F, White numbers
FBD = Version F Darker, Black numbers
FWD = Version F Darker, White numbers

    ___________________________________________
  4. GO TO http://upload.circle.glx.nl
  5. Click browse upload your RENAMED framework-res.apk file.
  6. NOTE DOWN THE CODE YOU GET BACK, you need this to locate your circle mod once it's done.
  7. WAIT a couple of minutes (~ 3 min or sometimes more...)
  8. GO TO http://pick.circle.glx.nl
  9. Locate your CODE, and download it.
  10. Flash it to your phone.
Now I'll expand on what I did to get it to work. I am using the newest version of Fresh (3.2.0.0) and testing it out for flipz. I had the ROM in my downloaded file on my laptop. I went into the zip file and followed the path listed and found the apk. I then copied the file and pasted it to my desktop. Then I right clicked on it and renamed it using the above directions. I went to the website listed in step 4 and uploaded the file I just put (and renamed) on my desktop. Wrote down the code (which is time and date stamp) and waited 4 minutes. I went to the website in step 8 and found my code (don't be like me and look on the right hand column, look on the left. lol). I then downloaded the file to my laptop, made a nand backup, put the new zip file on the root of my sd card and flashed it!

Hope this helps!

I'm sorry ZDK. I know how you feel because I was staring at it for 20 minutes last night, and somehow today it was like the veil was lifted. Is there a certain part you are getting stuck on?
