I have had TiBu for some time, and just noticed a couple days ago that it clears the Dalvik cache. It DID make my phone a bit snappier.
Today I wanted to check, but thought that the clear was in the system settings, forgot it was with TiBu - so I looked online on how to clear it and there was no "one click", and I know that's what I did, so I poked around the phone and BAM

So, for those who want an easy way, TiBu does it.
I figured I would mention this because a search got me nowhere.

Thanks Nick,

I've been looking for that as well. Just figured I wasn't looking in the right place.

That must have been added to one of TiBu's updates. Or I just don't remember seeing it earlier.

It was added in one of the TiBu updates within the last couple of weeks. My brain's fuzzy on exactly when, but I remember seeing it in the changelog and trying it right away.

I know it's not good, but I have to admit that with the addition of the "Update All" option in the Market, I don't always read the changelogs.
But I have several nandroid backups ready to save the day when something gets screwed up.

What will clearing the Dalvik Cache do...what is the advantage of doing so?

Well, I may be wrong, but from what I have read, and experienced. When doing major changes, like flashing ROMs, then flashing different Kernels (trying to find one that plays well with my D1), flashing Themes, then flashing small update (patch) zips, the cache gets written and rewritten with each change. And after awhile my phone seems to slow a bit. Clearing the cache seems to speed up my phone. (Placebo? Maybe) YMMV, so it's up to you.

I just did a quick Google and found some reading material:
