Have we been forgotten?

I hate to sound like a complainer but it seems we have been forgotten by Samsung. Think of the fact that we all received phones that don't even have working GPS, but still to date we have not received an official fix from Samsung. Our phones have an obvious lag problem which has been unofficially fixed showing it can be done and yet Samsung doesn't release anything official. When you look up the 2.2 update you see when the international version will get there update but nothing about the Vibrant (at least I havn't found it). Not to mention that on top of Itunes the Iphone now has Netflix, Droid x has blockbuster and still to date nothing official on Media Hub. I don't know about everyone else but I would like to have our phones doing and running like what was sold to us in advertisements.

if you dont like it, change phones and change forums.

The phone is only 2 months old. Give it some time man. Do you put bread in the toaster and wait only 5 seconds and then say ''THE BREAD ISNT TOASTED YET! HAS BLACK&DECKER FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME!?" No, you dont. It takes time, money, and man hours. You should have researched and known what you were buying before hand. your fault for not doing so if you didnt.

So you are ok about buying a product and it not working out of the box? Personally I want something to be 100% working when I buy it.

My Vibrant works 100%:D
I have no complaints:p
I have patience to wait for the 2.2 update;)
If it bothers you that much, call Samsung and remind them who you are since you think they forgot about you (i.e. "Hey it's me Ryan, remember me?")

Here we go again......

so many people in the world and so many that think that everything should meet their expectations..... Well one day you will wakeup.

I for one have no lag issue, no GPS issue and no problem with waiting for a few apps.

The blockbuster app was originally released for Windows Mobile on T-mobile's HD2 not Droid X so it is coming just slowly, but if you cannot wait for the official release then google the app and get it from XDA. This has nothing to do with Samsung or the Vibrant.

Netflix just did the Iphone app and are now working on Android. Again nothing to do with Samsung or the Vibrant.

The "international" or base model Galaxy S is a "send as-is" phone with NO carrier mods to it at all and no extra carrier apps. It is the Samsung "experience" phone similar to the Nexus One "Google Experience" phone. No carrier apps or mods so no waiting for the carrier to do stuff. Again not a Samsung issue, but it is a carrier issue.

As for any fixes that you mentioned with lag or GPS Samsung is "fixing" it. But the fix is in the form of Android 2.2 for all models of the phone. Samsung sees no reason to fix an OS that will be replaced in 3 months from the launch. I for one cannot blame them as they already had 2.1 done and were already working on 2.2 shortly after release. Since they already have 2.2 in the works they are not going to stop work on it to add the bug fixes to an older OS. Besides Samsung has already said that the Galaxy S update will be hear at the end of September.

Man if I had a chunk of nickel for ever person who expected gold from pyrite I would be rich!

As previously mentioned, the people who did choose to buy the phone should really have researched and known about it's various software issues before buying it (honestly though, my GPS works fine outdoors). I can understand why you'd be mad it isn't perfect out of the box, but that's why they designed firmware updates in the first place. If the phone's issues really bothered you, why not wait for the new software release to buy? In your opinion, it wouldn't even really be out until it's perfected, right? So the Froyo update release could have been your launch date. Just a thought...

Lol....you guys are funny. So I cant make a statement backed by valid points without you guys jumping down my throat? If everything is fine then why are there so many people doing the lag fix and why are the gps fix topics so popular? I guess from now on before I bring up a topic I will ask you guys (or gals) if it bothers you that way I dont get chased off the forum again. Oh and I never said I didnt like the phone if you go back and read you will see that I said I wish these few thimgs would work.

I did the lagfix only to see 2000+ quadrant scores to be honest, not really noticing much change in lag or lack thereof.

It's just seems funny that you have had the phone for what a whole 2 or three weeks, and your complaining about being forgotten. If you hate to be a complainer then why complain. And since you already know about the bugs and that there are fixes and that not everyone is experiencing them then why complain? Sure you have a right to, but we also have a right to complain about people opening new threads just to complain about already known bugs, and APPS that have not been released and apps that can be had other places. No one is jumping down your throat, but like me are just pointing out all the flaws in your OP.

Seriously the nit picking has got to stop at some point, because perfection can never be reached because if it could be and was then there would be nothing left to strive for.

Where are your valid points? lol. My GPS works fine and I haven't had a lag issue since the day I received my phone, I just installed it to see the difference really, but it's nothing major. I mean honestly, if you're gonna cry over a couple of really minor issues and make it sound like everyone is getting screwed; just become a developer and develop apps like "netflix and blockbuster" for android as well as doing update fixes for the issues you're having, add it to the market, put a price tag on it, and sit back and collect money for your work.....problem solved. You make it seem like the world owes you something because you bought a smartphone and you're having a couple of issues. If you were talking about the Behold II or something, then yeah, I can relate to that, but not a phone that was just released recently AND is being updated.

After all.....it is "open source" for development!!;)
