Root Currently best froyo rom?

Hello,

now that froyo is out for a bit, I was wondering what rom I should install.
I've tried the modaco and the cyanogen rom, but there always seems like there is something missing.

Are there any other good ones?
Any you guys prefer?

I have been using the neophyte roms & have found them to be good & stable.
They also happen to be based on modaco roms.

Its a very subjective question. I like defrost. Its thye fastest out there in my opinion. Its a Nexus 1 port, so it is completely different to any Sense Roms you may have tried. That said, It's based on Cyanogen now.

Yes it is. But as I only know of 2, there might be others here worth trying.

At the moment I feel like I'm not really satisfied with any :(
I want to try something different than sense, but with that I also lose some great applications.

I got CM6 when they released the stable build, and I'm loving it. I gave up on DeFrost when I couldn't fix a stupid proxy bug. I may try it again later now I know how to fix it.

What are you looking for that your not finding? I figure most of what I want is in the marketplace, I just need to go looking.

Well, I've no problem with losing sense. It's just that the sense keyboard is far too good for me and I want no other. I also like the sense clock with the alarm and nightclock.

I also have no problem in having sense, but most roms give a lot of extra applications that I don't want and that I can't delete.

Or other roms remove applications that I want, but are normally standard, which I can't download or install.

I'm on the official froyo mod now, and everything was well, untill I discovered apps to sd only give 5mb more internal memory.

So I'm searching for another rom again.

I can help you with a couple of those things...

keyboard, custom colour HTC IME Mod keyboard...

http://www.gimpsta.com/themer/ select Hi Res Kitchen and make sure you choose a froyo version for froyo roms. Its a modification of the HTC keyboard (better) plus you customise it and download it.

removing apps before install, you need to know the names of the apps, but if you download a rom's ZIp, you can open it, browse to system\apps and delete the .apk's there (being very careful of course)... then just close it.

Or after install:

From what i have learnt and experienced and read as well, there is nothing as best rom ..... all act differently and have different adv. Also what I believe is one ROM can act differently on different phones (for what ever reason) for example one of the so called stable ROM MoDaCo did not work good at all on my Desire. Applications crashed and worst of all battery screwed ..... I had to roll back to 2.1. I then updated 2.2 OTA which seems to run much stable. So its like try couple of ROMS, stick with one, and then customize the phone accordingly, and stay with it .......
