Help If I Were to Factory Reset...

After getting the 2.2 update, my phones battery life has changed drastically for the worst and my phone lags as well...if I were to factory reset, what would I have to do to prepare myself for it?

I know that all of my contacts are tied to my google account, but what about my apps? Before I reset, should I make a list of the apps that I have and then re-download them?

What about the Swype beta installer that I have? I don't want to lose that >.<

Would back-up assistant help any?

Thank you in advance!

:D

I'm thinking more and more that I would like to do a factory reset as well.

What do you actually lose when you reset? Would I lose all my settings? I've tweaked this thing so much I'm not sure I can remember half of my settings...lol

Would I lose all my text message strings? No big deal there...

As far as apps go...do I even need Appbrain? I thought the market remembered all my downloads under the download tab?

I have a couple non-gmail email accounts...would I have to set them up again?

Would my SD card get wiped? I guess I can just remove it before I reset.

Thoughts?

I don't think the Market remembers, but I can't say for sure since I went right to AppBrain.

Here's what you do.

Install AppBrain and create an account. Sync with AppBrain. Factory Reset.

After you reset, download AppBrain and Sync. Go to the website and sign in. Click "My Apps."

You will see your Apps Lists on the left-top. It should say "Apps on the HTC Droid Incredible." It'll have 2 lists (one since the reset, one from before). Find the one that has all your apps pre-reset and "Select All." Add to list (and choose the other list).

Go back to AppBrain on phone and Sync.

Now you should see all your apps waiting to be installed. Click "Perform Installs" and you should know the drill from there.
