Root Ally root instructions.

Does anyone know where I can find simple instructions on how to root my LG ALLY? I only have windows XP &am having trouble finding good instructions. Can't wait for Froyo OTA. Thanks for ur help.

Find the tread how to root ally, go down to heffe post, that's about as simple as your going to get. Or you could do universal anroot 1 click root, I didn't like it but that's just my opinion..

just download and use Universal Androot, took 5 seconds on my Ally and done, have flashed custom roms back and forth and back to stock, still rooted...i am not sure why people keep posting really long drawn out tutorials for this when a one click 5 second app does fine

Me too. You need to download and transfer via usb to the ally. Put it in a folder your devices can see. (so you can see it in settings, applications.) (then install and launch)
You'll also want to enable 3rd party apps in the settings, first.

You don't have to be plugged in to your computer at all.

Http://blog.23corner.com is the dev's webite. It is in a foreign language but the app has been tested and 100% works. Download it and open. If you don't have install from 3rd party sources then hit the settings when you open the file. Check it and hit back and install.

Simple.

I know that. It wasn't letting me download root apps even though I had superuser access and I hit the un-root button and my brother pulled my battery to make me mad, and I tried turning in back on and that fastboot thing popped up. Anyways I have my opinion on these things and I don't like and a lot of people do and that's cool. Someone asked what others opinion was on universal anroot so I gave mine..

Note to others reading this: If you pull the battery at a crucial step like that, don't expect any root method to handle it elegantly...

What is the proper way to install and use Androot on an LG Ally??
How do you unistall stock apps once this is done?

I just donwloaded it from marketplace and installed it. i don think I have root superuser access though. I am not sure.

I cant uninstall stock apps, and when I got into the superuser icon, i cant view logs. It gives me a force close.

Also, I downloadd a terminal editor to the phone and when i run a "pwd" command, its shows i am at "/". However, when I do a "sudo -s" it tells me permission denied. Not sure if that helps.

Can someone tell me what the proper procedure to installing this on an LG Ally 2.1

In the terminal emulator on the phone

type su.

A prompt should pop up asking for superuser permission if it does. Allow it. That means you are rooted.

# = rooted
