Root No sound on camcorder playback (VLC)

When i record a video on my desire and then open it on my PC with VLC, i get no sound at all......? It has been like this since i rooted and using 2.2. Does anyone else have this issue? and more importantly how to fix it! :D

Thanks

Try using a different media player, i know vlc usually plays most everything but occasionally it comes across a file that wont play properly.
Had it myself a few times & of all things it played with windows media player.

Failing that it may just be a problem with the rom you are using

There was a post in the site news thread asking for guide applications so I applied... its not necessarily permanent. I think were on trial.

Not sure for vlc. Never played videos from my phone on pc. All I can say is vlc has built in codes where as most others use external. Maybe there is a vlc update available?

I live in Armley up near the park and golf course. You?

Edit> Yeah I did really get 1855 On this ROM. It's not an average, it's a top score. I quite often get over 1800 and consistently over 1750

Spooky, im in Armley too!! On the heights, not far from you really, you know the reservoir? well im near there. Small world eh!

I thought about applying & never got round to it, but was picked instead not complaining though.

If you are using the latest version of vlc try using an earlier version as sometimes i have found older versions play files that the newer ones don't.

Look here for older versions.

Thanks mate, i took same advice from someone on xda, i didn't have the latest installed, once i did that it worked flawlessly! also, in the old version of vlc that i was using, when i checked the fps i was seeing like 5 fps for my 720p recordings, but this new version its telling me that the same vids are like 22 fps.....!

cheers guys
