Ebay is your best resource.

I just looked at the completed listings for the Eris and they are currently selling for as low as $99 to as high as $199

Your mileage may vary.

The fact that it is rooted most likely will have no bearing on the price since rooting the phone is very very easy now.

Anyone who buys an eris can just root the phone anyway in a couple of minutes.

I listed my Eris for $125 a month ago on Craig's. It didn't sell. I had offers for $80, $70, and $100. I lowered my asking price to $100. I get asked if I'll take $50.

This is all by the SAME people.

Price the phone at what you want to sell it for. Re-list accordingly. (After 72 hours of no hits delete the ad and re-post) You will eventually get a buyer, but it may take a while. Stress it has Android 2.2, but warn them there is no warranty. Stress you don't have a contract - which to get out of on a smartphone is $350 now - so they know they are getting a deal.

Ignore the folks that want something for nothing.

Bought mine off ebay a couple of weeks ago for $143, was looking for in $120 range and hunted and bid for 2 days, and always got out bid, and missed 2 that were went for 108, and another for 85, but the majority of them were going between 130-140, for auction style. I finally gave up and just put in a max bid of 145, and almost had a phone for $130, but some last sec snipers put the bid to 143.

But I dont think you will see 199 for a used phone. maybe new, and even then it might be a while before it sells......but it is ebay and people will buy anything.

It has no scratches anywhere on the phone the case or the screen

Eris phones that are in "near mint" condition go for about $165 on eBay if they are sold auction-style; if they are listed as "Buy it now" sales, or with reserves above $150, they will never get an offer. A typical phone with no problems but a small amount of cosmetic blemishes will fetch between $130 -$150. You won't be able to get $199 for it.

Expect less than $100. The Eris is the same speed as the old original Google G1 phone. The phone was outdate the day it was released. People did not know this when they were buying. Its not worth much.

Go look at eBay. People are buying NONFUNCTIONAL Eris handsets for $40-80, and working units for $130-160.

The market for any used good is not defined by some measure of intrinsic value, or by comparison to any other product - it is determined only by what people will pay for it.

Remember the axiom, "Perception is reality". As long as people are willing to part with their hard-earned cash for something - that is what it is worth. Are they all idiots? Who is to say, really - it's their own money to spend as they see fit.

The OP can get $130 - $160 by offering it for sale at auction on eBay - even if he is charging 10 bux for shipping.
