Retail price for the Fascinate?

I've asked at Best Buy 3 times on 3 different visits now.

First time, it was $700. I blinked, asked her to check again, she clicked away at the computer for a bit, and came back and said, $699.99.

Second time, she said she didn't even know what a Samsung Fascinate was and asked another person, who also didn't know, so they both looked on the computer. After a few moments, they said they don't have pricing or a release date for it yet.

Third time, again, nobody knew what it was (this doesn't seem to bode well for me getting called when it comes in...). They said they don't know pricing yet but it would probably be around $600.

Per the internet, it seems like a retail of $529 might be suitable, but it seems like nobody knows for sure yet...

Best Buy's retail prices are inflated. The X is listed at $699 but the Verizon price without contract is either $529 or $559.

When I bought my incredible at Best Buy I wanted them to price match the local verizon store and their response was that they don't pricematch because they make no money on the phone without a contract. After pointing out their pricing policy posted right on the front wall they relented but only after checking the local Verizon store for stock.

I believe they are jacking the price to keep people from buying them without a contract and having stock for people signing a new contract.

Check Walmart and Verizon when the phone is released. I'm guessing it will be around $529 too.

I just checked our internal systems, The Cost of the phone (how much we the store pay per phone) is 549.99$ and the retail price we charge is 749.99. (our company inflates full retail a ton!) seems like verizon full retail they charge about 20$ over cost, so it will most likely be 569.99 through verizon online full retail.

As far as I know, you can always extend your 2 year contact before the expiration of your current contact to take advantage of the discount. I never have any problem doing that. But of course, I have been a long time customer with unlimited data plan.

VZW has two upgrade programs, NE2 and Annual Upgrades (self-explanatory). I assume you've upgraded once a year using either?

NE2 and 2-year contract are two different discount programs. I have combined the two in the past and Verizon allowed that (maybe because I am a long time customer with unlimited data plan). Last time when I completed my 2 year contract, I got the additional NE2 $100 discount off the "$199 mail-in rebate with 2 years contract" price tag. In another word, all I have to pay is just $99 for a brand new phone.

But this time, I just cannot wait till October. It is because I have to go to 2 separate business conferences in October. I do not want to carry a brand new phone that I am not familiar with to important business trips. That's why I have decided to give up the $100 NE2 discount and buy the phone right now.

I am not familiar with the Annual Upgrade program.

For the BOGO deal, do both lines need to be eligible for an upgrade, or can one be a NE2 upgrade and capitalize off the BOGO deal?

I ask because I don't have an upgrade but my brother has a NE2...
If I am not mistaken, NE2 applies to the primary phone of the account only. If you have more than one phone in the account, the discount on the other phones are either substantially less or none at all, depending on the phone you are upgrading to.

You are right that the primary phone on the account gets a more substantial discount, but from what I recall - we just upgraded 3 of 5 phones on the plan - they are all called "NE2" upgrades and the primary upgrade is called a "VIP" upgrade. Semantics, but the VIP was was an additional $100 off.

So, if they say $199 with 2 year contract, that's available to ALL numbers on a plan that are upgrade eligible, with the VIP receiving an additional discount, bringing the price to lower than $199.

I remember this because I used my father's upgrade - hah! - to get my Incredible for less than $199. I think I got it for $99 and that wasn't an advertised priced for 2 year contacts.

WTH why would the epic cost more i dont understand?

I'm guessing to make more money off the added features: FFC, 4G, keyboard...but I wouldn't go to sprint, so this doesn't concern me.

Thanks supersaki, I was being too lazy to link the information about the two programs.

Substring, essentially you can use NE2 (if you have it ready) anytime you upgrade (if your eligible) and get the discount. Annual upgrade allows you to upgrade even when you don't fit into the window for your usual upgrade (NE2 or not). The problem is, I don't think BB honors anything but NE2 renewals (or the 20 month upgrade), annual upgrades have to be done through Verizon. So yea, all of this is off topic, but the last part about BB is my point and I would go there or call and find out, otherwise you may end up disappointed going there and trying to buy it later this week.
