Hey Guys
as I've reported many times, i seem to have issues flashing to new roms. I finally figured out how to do a logcat and was wondering if you guys would take a look?

I just flashed over nonsensikal black 5.4 and when booting up ran the command adb logcat.

I copied what I think is most of the text in the command prompt window by selecting mark and pulling the cursor down to cover all of the text, then pressed enter. copied to text file.

Thank you!

your getting there, but what im looking for would be where it fails and that part isnt included in the text you posted. if you want to try again and pull a larger amount of text i can take a look at it agian

OR

if you install teamviewer i can take over your computer-for a limited time of course-and run the logact and pull the relevant section myself.

its up to you either way, you seem pretty happy with your current rom.

i did select all in the edit command -

the end of the text is where it ends. The phone will just hang on the boot animation. I'll let it sit there for 20, 30 minutes and it just stays looping on that.

I am very happy with my current rom (Cy Tazz 2.0) and it is the one that I will always use for day to day use. But still would like to figure why my phone is so finicky with other roms.

Thanks again and really appreciate the help. I am a newb so if I'm doing to logcat thing wrong please let me know.

I took a quick peek - and I don't see anything unusual.

I would expect to see some repetitive behavior if the phone was looping.

I think we are only seeing a small fraction of the logcat - the cut-n-paste function of the DOS Command window is sort of paltry.

If you are using something like

C:\foo> adb logcat > looplog.txt

to capture the logcat, you can run the (above) command about 10-15 seconds after the phone is rebooted (you will hear two USB "kerdonk" sounds, and then it should be OK to run the above command. Then, just let it keep running (don't interrupt it with a Control-C) until the looping has been going for a couple of minutes.

If you want to cut-n-paste something bigger, try this: Load the URL

file:///C:

in your browser, and navigate to the logcat file ("looplog.txt" in my example)
Then select and copy the whole thing, and paste it into a page at

Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002!

and post up the link for the pastebin that comes back (Set the post expiration time to 1 month).
