Swipe Right and Left to brighten and dim your screen.

Up where the notification bar is, if you swipe your finger to the right really fast, it will increase brightness. If you swipe your finger to the left, it dims the screen.

you don't have to go fast. When the gray notification bar appears slide left across it for dim or right across it for bright.

Well just a heads up this feature only works if automatic brightness is turned off in Settings >> sound & display >>> brightness.

I have an app that does it separately, but it is not a slick as having it built into the UI like that.

Based on my check just now, it's not swipe to change brightness, it's "move to whatever level of brightness you want as though the bar is a slider."

I confirmed this by slowly moving my thumb across the gray pulldown bar while having the brightness box open.

I believe that is in the TW3.0 version, the Epic I can recall has TW2.5 so that feature is not available.

He's referring to Touch Wiz 3.0, and the Epic currently has Touch Wiz 2.5.
