Root I am suffering from ADS (Android Derangement Syndrome)

Perhaps you have it too. Here are the symptoms:

1. You spend hours every day messing with your phone. Not using it, but making changes to it.
2. You flash cm6 nightlies even though you know they are unstable just because you want to do something new to your phone.
3. You find yourself strangely unhappy when you finally get your phone just right because it means you don't have a reason to make changes anymore?
4. You are constantly changing wallpapers because you can't stand the one you loved an hour ago?
5. You wake up in the morning and your first thought is, "where's my phone"?
6. You're constantly running benchmarks then taking pictures and posting them on forums when you get a good score? When you get a really high bench you feel a since of pride like YOU actually accomplished something personally even though all you did was buy the thing and push some buttons.
7. You are constantly trying the latest kernel even though it means a complete wipe and new setup?
8. You use words like root, rom, kernel, battery and brick on a regular basis?
9. You get overly amped when you read a new kernel has come out promising super-speed and amazing battery life?

Then you have ADS. Abandon all hope. There is no cure.

Damn, glad I'm not the only one lol.

I started to think about all this the other day.

Toast, you, on the other hand, are actually making a personal contribution to the phone's functioning so you have a right to feel pride in the EVO's performance. The rest of us are just fans in the stands.

Sometimes i wonder if our obsession says more about the greatness of this phone or the relative smallness of the rest of our lives :)

The sad part is that as soon as the dual-cores starting out at 1.5 ghz come out at Christmas, our poor EVO's are gonna be dogs anyway - especially when the developers start writing apps that take advantage of that extra power but overwhelm our EVO's. :( In a way, these smart phones are a lot like video cards.

Hey toast, maybe you can help me out. I tried flashing the Snap 7.5 kernel and lost all wifi. It see's it but wont connect. I nandroided back to a previous setup that ran wifi fine and still no wifi. This has never happened before. Any ideas?

reset your router and modem maybe? it happens sometimes to me at home while using my evo on wifi my router seems to lock or something, also my wife's macbook looses connection. it almost never happens if i don't connect the evo to wifi at home. this also happened before rooting.

just throwing it out there

Thanks. Yeah I reset it and it works fine now. I guess I didn't think of that right away because my computer connection was fine. Oh well, an IP thing I guess.
