Root Cyanogen Tazz 3.0 "Black Rain"

It's a dandy.

I started with the wiping regimen and then was delighted to see that it boots faster on first boot-up than I'm used to seeing.

Configuration was fast.. the system is good and quick, and it is yet another release that makes me glad the 2.2 ROMs have come around in all this Eris rooting fun we're having.

Cyanogen Tazz v3 is a keeper.

does any1 know if swype works with it?

I haven't tried it yet, but Swype has worked with any rom I've used. I always re-install it each time, though, or it either won't work right or you'll get a message that says it wasn't configured for your phone (or words to that effect :) ). I delete Swype, but keep the Swype Installer and install it fresh.

A question: does Cyanogen Tazz flash the trackball for all notifications, or does it flash the LED at the top? After using Kaos Froyo for a while now, I am spoiled by how easy it is to glance that the trackball while the phone is sleeping to see if I have missed a notification (or received a silent one.)

I am loving this version and actually switched from nonsensikal to this one. My only beef (which isn't really a beef at all) is that I now have mix and match icons after my google backup restored. Is there an icon pack available somewhere or a way to flash old school icons that appear after installs over to the Black Rain icons? (which I love btw)

I'm digging this new version of Tazz. Only thing I am hoping is that the status bar stays black, unlike what kept happening to me in version 2. Would change to white, and the notifications got a whacked out. Also, I like the new icons, but they are kinda hard to make out what is what, and they do mismatch with other icons from other apps. Other than that, love it! Thank you so much!

i didnt do a wipe before i flashed. havent done a wipe since version whatever to 1.0

I like seeing reports of success, no issues with a flash that was not preceded by wiping.

It seems to be iffy from ROM to ROM, with some devs advising to either go ahead and wipe, "just to be safe," or to try it without wiping first, then if issues rear their head, re-flash after doing the wipes.
